Bakersfield Oil Field Coffee Shop remains a solid fixture in the community with a steady flow of loyal Customers. Food is traditional diner type with large portions. Coffee a steady pour from service staff that’s very accommodating to your dining pleasure. Walls are decorated with Oil Field pictures and billboards with occasional stuffed animal head. There has been zero changes here to anything that begs the statement “If it ain’t broke, why fix it.” One question ? Why the Total Front Cage (?) it’s like something you expect in a high crime area in LA ….

Local hole in the wall. Portion sizes are big. I had the chicken fried steak, and it's probably the tastiest I've had. I enjoyed it with the grits. My hubby ordered extra crispy hashbrowns with his meal, which had a nice dark yellow crust and was not mushy inside. The coffee kept coming. I will return if I'm ever back in town.

Totally amazing Breakfast and lunch! We experienced an amazing Diner experience! They have an amazing collection of Bakersfield Nostalgia for you to enjoy while you experience your awesome breakfast or lunch! I had the Chicken Fried Steak Breakfast with a side order of Pancake! Totally recommend ordering the Half portion! My wife enjoyed the Chili Verde Omelette with Biscuits and Gravy! Also amazing! Great food and great people!

I had huevos ranchos this morning and it was excellent. Their chili verde is a must try. So tender, delicious and priced right. I go out of my way to dine here

My mom (a senior) went and got a half order of the cheese omelette and ended up getting charged more than the full omelette’s listed price (supposedly the senior discount). The bill is not itemized and prices seem arbitrary based on how the waitress (server #8) feels about you.
The waitress offers a half order omelette but then decided at the time of giving the bill that she can’t serve a $5 omelette. She shouldn’t have offered to provide a half sized omelette and then up charge the person. Makes zero sense
