Pho Hut has been part of my food journey since 2015, and by 2018–2020 it had become one of my regular go-tos. Even while I was fully plant-based, they had plenty of options that kept me coming back.
Their soups have always stood out: steaming hot, generously portioned, and flavorful enough to enjoy half now and save half for later. Every friend and family member I’ve brought here over the years has returned on their own, which says everything about its consistency.
Life and moves have caused breaks in my visits, but every time I wander back in — or order online — I’m reminded why Pho Hut has held strong for me all these years. The flavor is still flavoring! 🍜✨

I walked in with pretty high hopes. The atmosphere and decor are inviting, and the service was genuinely friendly. Unfortunately, the food didn’t match the setting. We ordered the combination pho, and honestly—it was the most flavorless broth I’ve ever had, and I’ve been to some pretty questionable pho spots. At least the shrimp spring rolls and Thai tea were decent, but that’s about where the highlights ended.
I can’t speak for the rest of their menu, but do yourself a favor and skip the pho—it’s a letdown, especially for a place called Pho Hut. To make matters worse, the AC clearly wasn’t working, which is brutal in the Bakersfield heat. Great vibes, kind staff, but mid food and stifling air make it hard to recommend.

This review was totally inspired by the lack of service upon entering the place and trying to place the order. I went into Pho Hut last week at about 7:15 to place a to go order as my wife was working late and I wanted her to have food after work. I always order the #9 and this day was no different. I was ignored at the counter for about six minutes as I stood there with my money in my hand. The restaurant was not busy, there was only one group eating at a table by the window. Yet they ignored me, did not take my order. There were as many employees inside as there were customers. At some point at around six minutes an employee FINALLY took my order. If the food would have been for me I would have bounced out of this no service joint and went to spend my money elsewhere. The food actually came out fast, actually faster than it took for them to ignore me in an almost empty restaurant.
Took the food home to find out that they did not have jalapenos in the garnish bag and the basil had stale pieces inside. DGAF service is exactly why I sit here writing this review.

Not bad but would still recommend because their Pho was good, shrimp spring rolls were okay, and the atmosphere was nice. The staff were super friendly, good customer service, and will come back again when I'm in the area.

first time visit. nice open corner restaurant. Need bright up little bit interior black. My Phở tái chín ok. But the rice noodle seem like instant dry from the bottom.. I need to wait for hot soup soak for 1 minutes. other while it is delicious phở.

Gave me old reheated meat that was toasted in the fryer or microwave. This is disrespectful to call viet food. Go save your time and money elsewhere. Meat was dry and hard

The pho was okay it didn’t have too much flavor. The fried rice I did enjoy with the chicken and shrimp. Customer service was okay but seemed busy for one waitress. The kitchen is right next to the tables it seems like a lot of stuff everywhere. I was craving pho but I don’t think I would return to this specific one. The prices were in between $15 to $20 not bad for the servings.
First time here and the food was amazing. It was our first time so we kind of took long on ordering but the server he was very patient with us 10/10 would recommend.

Food was great. Service lacked big time. You literally have to get the waitress (not the one who helped first) but another one in order to get a refill or napkins. The one who helped first was nowhere to be found after finally taking my order and bringing my food. The place was empty, so there was no reason for lack of attentiveness.

We wanted to give this place another try and we came and dined in. The server (girl) not sure if she’s Mexican/white but they either got to train her better or hire someone more friendly who actually seems like they want to work. First off seemed like she was being forced to take our order.. not friendly, acted like if we were bothering her while we ordered. I just thought maybe she was having a bad day. We came back a few days later again to give it another try since the food was good the first time and got the same server again and once again the SAME attitude and we wanted crispy egg rolls but she said they didn’t have none. Once she left we asked the other friendlier server if we could order crispy egg rolls and she said yeah within a few minutes we got our order after being told by the other server they didn’t have none. It’s a shame that this place has real good food but that server is horrible.

Love the noodles, especially when the weather is cold and I just finished my shift. I also like that they ask if I need anything and if the food is good. Perfect! I've been there 2x already coz it's really good.
