Horrible customer service from the waitress.The food and customer service is terrible .The waitress spilled hot menudo on one of our family members, was not apologetic and became even more rude afterwards. Very, very, rude with her customer service.Will never come back to Rubens because of this waitress being very rude and not being self conscious of her actions by spilling hot menudo on our party member which also ruined our celebration. Nothing but a horrible memory at Rubens restaurant at 4500 Gosford Rd.

We came in around 6 on a Friday evening. Wasn't a crowd and the services was VERY slow. For the amount of time they took you would think the food was fresh. Everything seems like it was microwaved . Food a plain and not good . 2 of the 4 got sick as soo. As week got home. I was very disappointed. The Rubens on Calloway is way better and have no comparison to this location. Don't waste your money here. Because if you complain about your food or service you will still pay your full tab regardless if you stop eating your plate or send it back .

The food was amazing. Hot & fresh. We went for Brunch on Sunday. It was buffet style. It was so good. Even my little ones lived it.

We had the Chile Verde burrito and a chicken fajita chimichanga. You can ask for a sample of the Chile Verde and they'll bring out a little of the sauce to try. The Chile Verde is in the top 3 I've had in Bakersfield (The taco stand at Home Depot on Rosedale back in the day, Cataldos Pizza on Stockdale/Allen). The service was good. Upon being seated, we were served free chips and salsa. Pepsi products sold.

We had a late dinner due to a graduation. We arrived to a mostly empty dining room. We asked if they were closed and they welcomed us in. We immediately got a drink order and aperitivos were served. I was very pleased with their chile verde. The spices were spot on. The service was friendly despite the fact that we were oblivious to the fact that we showed up minutes before closing. The staff handled it in a very classy way and never made us feel like we were not welcome.
