We came in around 8:30 PM and were immediately told by an older server that the restaurant closes at 9, so we should hurry and order. Not the warmest welcome, but we went ahead and ordered a small beef pho, a small spicy beef noodles, and asked for room temperature water. She brought ice water, and after we politely asked for room temp, she came back with cold water. We let that go.
Then the food came—and she brought us a large spicy beef noodles instead of the small. When we pointed it out, she insisted that we had ordered the large. After several minutes of back and forth, and us explaining that we’re traveling and can’t take leftovers, she finally brought the correct size.
But the worst part came at checkout—we were still charged for the large. When I tried to calmly explain the issue, the cashier turned her back and walked away mid-sentence. We were ignored by both her and the server for several minutes until we had to get up and go to the cashier desk ourselves. Eventually, we were told “it’s not OK for the restaurant.” Excuse me?
We were served the wrong order, overcharged, and disrespected. I’ve never felt so dismissed and mistreated at a restaurant. Absolutely unacceptable behavior.

I loved the array of vegan dishes, which is a rarity in this town. I had them sub tofu on their signature sandwich, and it was amazing. This is a great spot in the heart of Bakersfield. The best Pho in town and a great staff.
The staff is super nice! And the food is really good. I get the chicken curry noodle soup and it tastes amazing!!
