Every time I come in to purchase cookies they are either out or they have not made any for the day yet. Or they are closed. Such a bummer and I’ve come about 4 times at different hours with no luck. The gas station staff will not sell the items that are in the case either. We can only look at them!

Was told a cake I bought was a white cake… got it home and cut into it and found out it was banana nut instead. Called to see if they could do anything about it and was told it was considered a white cake, so I hadn’t been misinformed… Terrible service, do NOT trust them if you have a nut allergy!!

Not work the money anymore. Our round two layer white cake we ordered was dry and had no frosting in the middle. Not worth $50+.I don’t mind paying for something that’s good. Smiths is not the same unless you order Champagne cake ?

The cookies, the cakes...there is not a bad choice in the bakery!
1 Dozen Donuts 22.17 Came with a free human hair stuck in the chocolate frosting of a maple bar. After the employee handles most of the donuts I bought, she replaces the one with the embedded hair. No offer to pay me back or any extra for my troubles. No one cared if I was disgusted and loat my appetite .... !!!

Prices went up since I last remember for my Bakersfield visits. This location does not get much product for sell and difficult when you have limits available. Thump cookies were 3+ days old which is a bit odd to continue to sell so I did not buy the kids the small cookies. Wish they had more availability.

So disappointed in Smith's. Use to be "the" bakery of Bakersfield, but it's gone downhill. I called to order a birthday cake...simple 8 inch round with flowers. I was told that I couldn't get it decorated because they decorator was on vacation. I can't believe that Smith's doesn't have more than one decorator! It was May, and I'm sure there were many graduations and weddings happening? Anyway, I was told I could just get a plain iced cake. I said ok. I had a gift card and was told I'd have to come in to pay for it before the day I picked it up. Ok, fine. The day before I was to pick it up, I go to pay for it and I'm told they cancelled my order because there's no decorator!! I asked, why didn't you call? Her answer, "I waited to tell you, when and if you came to pay for it! So now...day before I was suppose to get the cake and I have no cake!!! And...no apology from the sales girl. Bye Bye Smith's....Hello Sugartwist, Sweet Surrender and GhilaDolci!
