Smith’s Bakery is a gem of a place in Bakersfield, truly amazing. Everything I’ve had from there for the 25 years I’ve been going there has been nothing but the best. But my God, are they overpriced. They raised their prices dramatically during the pandemic, which I understand to a point. But now they appear to be arbitrarily raising prices just because. And it happens in such a short amount of time that it’s kind of pitiful. For example, they raised the price of a box...

The smiley cookies are to die for! The thumb print cookies I used to love eating growing up but upon revisit, they’re not as good as I remember. Although these cookies are a classic to Bakersfield, they’re becoming extremely overpriced and for that I had to knock down my rating by one star. $2.49 for smileys and $0.99 for thumb print cookies… not to mention the decorated holiday cookies, those are upwards of $3.49-4.49 a cookie… Smith’s should at least consider offering...

Smith's Bakeries is the hidden gem of Bakersfield. They make the best cookies and cakes. The staff is nice. Highly recommend Smith's Bakersfield if you are craving something sweet!
