“Rice bowl is hands down the BEST chinese restuarant in Bakersfield. They are closed on Mondays, however, Tuesday through Sunday they are filled to capacity with customers due to the outstanding food. Come hungry, leave full. You will NOT be disappointed.
Parking: If their parking lot is full, there is always street parking as well as additional parking in the fenced parking structure on the east end.“

“Great sandwich shop! The bread is really tasty. Staff as very helpful to new customers. They were glad to see me and committed to delivering a top-notch experience.
It helps they are open til 8pm while some places close by 4pm.
PS Adding Capicola to Italian would be even better.

“Golden Cabin is very clean. My go to food is a combination plate of taco, enchilada. The enchilada sauce is delicious red (colorado). It is not the tomato red sauce I dislike. Sorry no picture, i was hungry :-) My husband got the Carnita Torta, he loved it! Said he would order it again. He said the bread was so soft, it melted in his mouth, not too bready. BTW, we live an hour out of Bakersfield, we will be regular visitors when we drive in again.“

“I want to share my recent experience at your restaurant. While I appreciate the food and great service from most of your staff, I encountered an issue that made our visit frustrating.
Our party of nine was told there was a 2.5-hour wait, so I asked the host to split our group—one table for the kids and one for the adults. I understood the tables might not be close, but I didn’t expect them to be at opposite ends of the restaurant. I noticed three empty booths near the kids’ table and politely asked if switching was possible.
I want to praise BJean for his professionalism and patience. He remained calm, listened, and worked to accommodate us. He truly provided excellent customer service. Our servers, including a young man named Abdiel, were also kind and attentive. Lauren, our server was amazing as well so kind and patient.
Unfortunately, another employee, who seemed to be a manager, was rude and dismissive. He made sarcastic remarks, saying, “You signed up for this. This is exactly why we don’t split tables,” and rolled his eyes. His tone was condescending, and he showed clear frustration instead of trying to help.
As someone who has worked in the service industry and now as a nurse, I understand the stress of high-pressure jobs. However, customers should never feel like an inconvenience for simply asking a reasonable question.
Thanks to BJean’s professionalism, we were accommodated, and I truly appreciate his efforts. However, this experience has made me hesitant to return during busy hours. I hope this feedback is taken seriously, and that BJean and Abdiel receive the recognition they deserve.
