Loved everything about my experience at The Botanist. The atmosphere is what I heard most about, so I tried it for date night. It did not disappoint. Service was excellent, server was attentive and helpful. They are known for unique cocktails, so I tried am Encanto (tequila based with orange and basil) and it was phenomenal. Also had the Loaded Fries, which made a full meal. Can't wait to go back.

BEAUTIFUL INSIDE but you better bring a decent amount of money to enjoy it. The drinks are so beautiful and delicious but there is very little alcohol in them. The food is amazing. I haven't decided if the price is worth the atmosphere. But I want to go here all the time.

The Botanist is unlike anywhere else in Bakersfield. My partner and I came here for my birthday, and the moment we walked in, the atmosphere struck us — dim, ethereal lighting that makes the world outside feel far away, giving you privacy and presence all at once. It’s the kind of setting that makes every conversation feel more meaningful.
The drinks are true works of art — botanical, layered, and memorable in every sip. The food matches that same creativity, balancing comfort and innovation. Their loaded fries are pure indulgence, their tacos pack freshness and fire, and their vegan smash burger (yes, plant-based!) is hands down the most flavorful one in Bakersfield.
What I love most is how both their meat and vegan options shine equally. It’s a place where everyone at the table feels catered to, without compromise.

This is a well crafted ambience that Is really appreciated. The food was fantastic especially if you’re vegan. It’s good proportion not too much not too little and has great flavor. The service there, however, is severely lacking there is no customer service . I’ve never been to a restaurant where people seemed so unpleasant and made zero recommendations or suggestions to what was good or any drinks, especially when you know a good portion of their pay is off tips. I had to eat on top of the menu on a tiny crowded table for two. I wasn’t offered a choice of seating when there was plenty of seats available and whoever plated the food had the food hanging off the plate, touching the table, as well as never being checked on until the check. The experience was dismal at best when it comes to the customer service. When you spend this much attention to detail on the ambience and crafting beverages You would think impeccable customer service would be part of that attention to detail. This place could really be something with better training and probably better management with an attention to detail. If I remain a customer it will only for takeout.
Love the aesthetic, it has the feeling of a victorian library with drinks instead of plant specimens on their shelves. The smash burger, fries and drink options are great. Staff is friendly, and their is plenty of parking .

I walked into this place by chance & I immediately fell in love with the vibe and atmosphere. It does get busy, so service can be slower at times. That is truly the only complaint, but it is at no fault of the staff. The bartenders are kind and experts at their craft. Just be careful... The drinks are irresistibly delicious! Their food is also amazing, too! I love the loaded fries. It is a shareable meal. You get so much that I wouldn't even consider it to be an appetizer, unless you split with 4+ people.
