Umi Sushi & Sake

We were the only people there and asked to sit outside because I knew it would be better for my autistic son and customer was not always right they did not let us. Literally the only people there. Their appetizers are frozen not freshly made. I'm pretty sure it's the same shrimp temporary you can get at Costco. In the past I've always enjoyed their sushi rolls those are good and fresh. I just thought this service could have been more accommodating

Got norovirus from eating at this restaurant yesterday, I had the eel sushi roll, wasn’t sure which part of us was bad but had a really nasty food poisoning night.

I have always come here and it's always been great. Tonight was totally the opposite. I get it that it is valentines day. But I called to make a take out order. Had me on hold. For 10 min. Hung up and decided to go to the restaurant. The place was busy but took almost 10 min for someone to take my order and said it would be at least 30 min. I come bakc 50 mi. Later and it is worse. No organization. Waited almost 30 min and my order had been sitting there since I arrived.. No one asked if I had a tkae out order. To top it all off I get home, all the way in the north west of Bakersfield and my edemame was not in the bag. Very disappointed. Don't know if I will go back.

The quality has changed. The mussels are terrible and at 12.95 they will never be worth it. Spicy tuna roll (standard) was not what it used to be. 2 stars because the Sun kissed roll was still good. Dragon roll had too many burnt pieces of eel. I understand being busy 2 customers and 3 employees and no water refill....Last time for me

My wife and I order alot! ?.
Roll - tuna lover - 4 .2 out of 5. On the sweet side
Roll - tuna temptation - 4.0 out of 5. On the sweet side.
Vegetables tempura - 4.0 out of 5. I prefer my tempura a bit under cook for the crunch.
Soft shell crabsalad- was amazing! 5. Out of 5. Has an orange/lemon taste to the dressing.
Shrimp fried rice - 3.8 out of 5. Had a shrimp powder taste to the rice but still good.
Chirashi - raw sushi ?. All the fish were good.. 4.0 out of 5.. other than the tuna. Tuna 1.8 out of 5.
Was so good my wife and I order 2 more rolls to go!..
Will be stopping by this place on our next visit.

My mom, sister and I sat at the bar and sushi chefs were so sweet to her and give her extra tofu because she loves it. and even made her bear of orange.

I highly recommend that you eat here only as a doordash restaurant. At $50 a person there are much better restaurants in town.

My initial review of this place was pretty good but it seems to have declined over the past 4 years. The food is still very good. However the service is awful. The waiters don't know to bus empty plates, the waiter totally forgot about our drink order. They would never check to see how we were doing and we would often have to wave and flag them to give us service. It's kind of a red flag when you have to ask for Wasabi at a sushi restaurant because they don't give it to you.

Party of 4, food was good but service was non-existent. After orders were brought to the table, not a single time did any of the 3 servers come to ask if we needed anything. We had to fight for attention and the restaurant was not even full. Would not recommend this place service was sub par. We didn't skimp on orders, we paid $200.00 for a party of 4.
