The employees clearly dont care about the success of this establishment. Someone who claimed to be manager named Alba was extremely rude and accused me of lying about an improperly made dish. She insisted that her poorly made backed muscles had all of the ingredients listed on the menu, when in fact they did not. She was extremely sass

I always walk in and go straight to the bar. Party of one. Today I ordered the lollipops with no avocado and the crispy rice biscuits also with no avocado. I order without avocado because I am allergic to it. I always sit at the bar so never a wait. The chef here is extremely clean. The entire restaurant is really clean no complaints. Service is always great. My food was presented perfectly. I asked for sriracha, eel sauce, wasabi, and ginger. They did not skimp on the ginger which is perfect. I keep on returning not only because of the good service but the flavorful perfectly prepared food. This is my go-to place when in the mood for sushi. They do have specials but I already know what I want so I just order it. Also the Yellow Tail cheek is to die for! A must stop if in the mood.

Well, the roll had no flavor, the Seafood Soup was bland and disappointing 😔 The Green Mussels were really awful and undercooked.

I live close to Umi so I go in a few times a week for the Umi Special. My family and I go in at least once a month and my kids LOVE sushi! When I take them, its definitely not a cheap dinner. we spend just under $200. I order the same thing every time for the special. This last time I went in the chef refused to make the change I always ask for. I'm just not a fan of spicy tuna so I ask to switch out the spicy tuna for spicy crab. this one particular chef just wouldn't do it. That's fine, but I feel like it should be equal across the board. It's not right as a loyal customer I have been ordering the same thing for SO LONG, and then one guy just didn't feel like doing it. A little disappointing but oh well. I came to Jin instead :)

I have been coming here for years now, I am pregnant now and I always get my salmon cooked inside of my sushi as I can not eat raw sushi, and it’s always been honored and given to me that way. I went today 7-16-25 and they said they couldn’t cook the salmon inside of the sushi for me and gave me alternative options to choose from. The waitress told me that the chef today did not want to do it…. How do they have a choice to do it or not if that’s how the customer wants it….? Not satisfied and will not be coming back anymore

Best sushi place in Bakersfield , it is as simple as that. I am very picky on my sushi and this is the only sushi place in town I will ever go to now. The other sushi places do not even compare to this.
