Went with family for late lunch. We had fajitas and they were wonderful. Ordered caldo de res to go for dinner. It was excellent. The service is outstanding and prices are good. Will be back there soon. Also, ordered my granddaughter french fries, they were very good too.

I was in the mood to try something new. I stopped by El Capitan not knowing what to expect . I was pleasantly surprised to learn that this restaurant is great for groups . Amazing for lunch and a good place to sit and chat . I came in during lunch and was greeted by a gracious hostess. She took my order quickly and checked on me regularly to make sure everything was up to standard. I ordered a margarita and chicken tacos . I want to say the tacos were citrus or tropical? Either way they were flavorful and delightful. The margarita was very good as well . I cannot wait to return and enjoy more of the delicious food .

Great family owned business full of smiling faces and feels like visiting family whenever I pop in. It's very warm and cozy. The owners and servers are very attentive. The food is spot on. Very large menu from burgers to menudo. My favorite is their enchiladas blancas and their pork tamales with green sauce. Their California quesadilla definitely needs a shout out ...gotta smother it in their fresh guac and just spicy enough salsa. So good.

They are understaffed, place was dirty, we were waiting for at least 10 minutes for a table and nobody greeted us so we left. Will never go to this place again!

Another amazing place we just happened to find. Stopped for lunch in Bakersfield on our way back to Arizona. We pulled into the shopping plaza that had several restaurants to choose from, and we decided to try El Capitan. Great service and great food. I ordered the combo plater with a cheese and onion enchilada and taco. It also came with rice and beans. I am very picky when it comes to enchilada sauce, and their's was perfect. Hubby ordered the stuffed quesadilla that included asada, cheese, fries, and guacamole. It was so stuffed that he could only eat half, and it was very delicious.
