Vatos Tacos Grill and Cantina

The worker that received us at the door was very rude and didn’t seem happy there was going to be 7 of us. He is the guy chubby guy with the tattoo on the right side of his neck. Not accommodating whatsoever and walked away, snapping his teeth at us. Our server jumped in and apologized for him.
Then we got seated in the VIP area and asked to move a few empty tables together so we can be more closer to each other to be able to talk better. The server thought it would be ok but the same rude guy turned us down. And was not nice about it. Our server just kept having to apologize for his rudeness. Over all food was good and we were celebrating my birthday.
Not sure if this guy is who they want representing their restaurant. Not a nice person at all

I had take out and delivery. Hell yeah 😎 😆 eat there. Food is excellent. Spices on point and the portions are plentiful so who worries about price when ur getting ur monies worth. I had the califa burrito 🌯 😋 and that is the bomb. Another person had the califa chicken,another happy person. Whomever reads this run 🏃‍♀️ there and try what I had or different. I have always loved the food here, however the service the last time I went was undoubtedly some of the worst I’ve ever encountered. Other than not being very attentive the server had the nerve to keep our change before I could offer a tip. Then when my little sister went to ask for a bag she said “you need another bag?” with attitude, I could hear her from our seat because the dining area is very small. It was only 2 bags total. She just came off very rude & money hungry. I was so disappointed that we haven’t gone to eat here since. Make sure you watch your money here.

What a rip off… Bunch of loud drunk people. My kids didn’t feel comfortable. Food was super over priced, tacos were skimpy and the service kinda lacked… Just reminds me of a McMurphy’s bar atmosphere. I was reminded of why I only went there once about 5 yrs ago lol

I was recommended this place to try for some good food and apparently I couldn’t even get a coke? I even ask the server if i needed to wait to be seated know I was at the bar? I was waiting and I ask for a menu and they kept passing and looking? Finally when they did ask I told them no thanks and behind the bar was was attempting to get hostile, I look at him and said really bro, not even a coke? Would I recommend this place…. You want to wait for a coke go for it…… food for thought….. Wow……. Beer 🍺 I wonder…. Good luck…..But here is an idea Vato Tacos…. Say can I help you when a customer comes in? Or offer something drink? Just an idea?( They will probably delete this comment but hopefully they heard?)👋✌️

The food here is full of flavor. The salsa is up to perfection. Doesn't have too many chunks of tomatoes and onions and isn't too salty either. It's just right. I found my new favorite little spot to simply eat and hang out for sports.

Update: They have a new item that is a must try. Its the molcajete! Just the right amount of spice(for the habanero one) Best molcajete out in Bakersfield.

If you want a burrito I strongly recommend one from here along with their green sala. Honestly can't go wrong with their nachos asada fries or the vato hotdogs. Good place but it is on the more pricy side.
