Me and my wife just discovered this sandwich shop and so far we've visited 3x in one week!. The staff is really friendly and the sandwich's are great!

This store is so much better than the other West Coast sourdough I think Stockdale and California. These people are happy and are actively doing their jobs unlike the one off Stockdale. I went in to the Stockdale location three times and while they are customers in the store waiting for their orders you can find disgruntled coworkers and some co-workers video chatting while on the clock aka behind the counter in the view of the customer site. thank you all the location for being way better than them.v this location rules

Food tasted alright but it gave me and my partner some kind of food poisoning. I don't think we'll be returning to this location any time soon.

I ordered online and got to the store 10 min after it was supposed be ready. They hadn’t started my sandwiches yet. Apparently they were the victim of a lunch rush. Seems they would anticipate that in a sandwich shop. After getting home I had to return because they didn’t include au jous with the French dip. The mouthy sandwich maker said “ you didn’t add it to your order”. She must be mouthy AND new. It’s standard, and you can’t add it. It’s worth it to drive all the way across town to get sandwiches from the locations with different owners. If you do order here, don’t expect anything like competence.

Let me start by saying…..WE LOVE WC SOURDOUGH. And we LOVE this particular location as well.

I was at the Bakersfield-Calloway Store today and on the phone with the store manager regarding my order when a female employee began to loudly chastise another much younger employee for “not going fast enough”. She told him he was wasting people’s money going so slow. She was very harsh and loud and rude!! There is a time and place to discuss an employee’s performance and in front of maybe 10 customers at lunchtime is NOT the time. The poor kid just shrunk back.

I told her that it was not appropriate and she said “Ma’am that is MY co-worker!” I replied with “I do not care. It’s inappropriate and I don’t care to hear you yelling at him.” She rolled her eyes and turned around to help the other customers that were actually at HER register WAITING for her to be done yelling at him and take their order! That is costing the business money! He wasn’t being slow. He was struggling to get a plastic bag open.

She needs a long unpaid vacation or another job.

I frequent this location and do not ever want her preparing my food.

A co-worker presented a coupon. The four of us spend approximately $100 per visit. At the 2 other WCS locations, the coupon seemed to be honored correctly. At Stockdale Hwy/California Ave location the manager seemed to have misinterpreted the deal and basically charged almost as if no coupon was honored. We have since drastically scaled back our visits.

I really like this place and was excited it was going to finally be close by. I've eaten at this location a few times now but the last 2 I've been a little disappointed. I got togo orders and neither times I was give utensils with Togo, or the side bread with my soups. Having gone to the Stockdale location dozens of times I know you get a side of bread with soup unless something has changed and now you have to ask for it now. I really love the food here so I'll continue come, but just confused about the forgetfulness of what comes with what now, if I need to request certain things.

We were really looking forward to trying a new sandwich place and unfortunately this place misses the mark.

We had never been before and so it took us a few minutes to decide, the person taking orders seemed annoyed by this. When we went to order I didn't see the kids meals listed on the menu so I ordered my 2 year old a 4" grilled cheese (picture included) I did clearly indicate that I was ordering for my little one and the order taker didn't even offer the kids meal option, so that was a little strange, but I will know better if we go again.

The grilled cheese wasn't even really a grilled cheese, I thought maybe they didn't have that on their menu so they were just helping me out. Turns out they do actually have it on their online menu, so I am still a little confused on what happened there, but paying $8.99 for a half toasted cheese sandwich seems a little crazy.

I ordered the French dip and while it did taste very good there was hardly any meat. My husband liked his Italian sandwich but asked for no oil and vinegar and it was still left on the sandwich.

The atmosphere was nice and everything was clean.

There are just too many good sandwich places around, that have comparable pricing, for this place to be skimping on basic ingredients and getting it this wrong.

We tried the clam chowder in bread bowl and it was excellent! My husband had a French dip and loved it! I had a turkey pesto and my only complaint is that it needs pure pesto not pesto mixed with mayo please.

The sandwiches were good. I ordered the Reuben and my husband the Pastrami, no extras. Served nice and hot on toasted sourdough. The lemon cookie was delicious. Employees were courteous. We’ll be going back.

I paid extra for bacon, cucumber and pepperocinis. The bacon is precooked store brand and not fresh. For the extra I paid, it was about half of what it should have been. The cucumber? It came with 1 slice. What the actual...

The bread was good but the turkey was shaved then and put all in the middle before the sandwich was cut. When I spread it out to cover the whole sandwich it was about half of what Jersey Mikes gives you.

I ordered from Doordash so I can't speak to their service but considering their price (it was over $15 for a 6 inch turkey and swiss sandwich), I expected more.

Jersey Mikes and Sequoia would never do this.
