Been here plenty of times with friends & family. After coming a good number of times, the hostess and Chef will be like coming over a friend's house for dinner. Food made from scratch & love. Never disappointed, always hot & fresh and will not have an issue with drinks. Small, simple, homely, welcoming and food made from the heart. I love bring new people here and not talking because we're too busy eating!

So good like really good, just try it for the first time bc i don’t like going olive garden they’re expensive and overrated. this one you can tell is made from the scratch and made with love, the service so good, the people so kind and everything i definitely loved it and ill recommend it with my family and friends.

I had place an order for today at 5pm and my friends got there by 5:30pm. The food was NOT ready and had to wait until 6:45pm~. And this is not the first that this happen where they were unprofessional ready with the food. I would HIGHLY NOT recommend this place for catering. What a shame!

This place is truly amazing, we hired them to cater our wedding and the entire process was so easy. Made an appointment with Jose for a tasting and he helped us build a menú for all our guests including some of our vegan and non-dairy individuals. Jose worked with our venue coordinator so perfectly, they had so much open communication that I didn't have to worry about anything. No panicked calls, no sudden changes, no stress just plain good service. Will definitely be working with them again if only so that we can get the poblano salad because it was a favorite for everyone.

We decided to dine at El Appetiz on a whim and we are so glad we did! Wow! Fresh flavorful food made by hand everyday. From the bread to the pasta to the salad dressing to the sauces. Their prices are very reasonable and the variety on the menu was expensive. As far as mom and pop shops go, it was one of the best finds this year! 10 outta 10
I'm sorry but. The food was not very Italian, I ordered the cheese ravioli, lasagna and Italian chopped salad. The dressing was thick and spongy, tasted very old. The food was not worth the $60.00. Very disappointed since we try and support local businesses. I do not recommend this place.

Owner Operator Jose A Portillo has a gem of an Italian restaurant in Baldwin Park. Stopped in early on a Friday for some dinners to-go. My elderly parents are mostly homebound and they are very fond of this little eatery. I was deeply impressed with the service and attention from Jose himself during our visit. And this was for to-go orders. We got two orders of La Pescadori and a meatball sandwich. The dishes were spectacular and the care and love from El Appetiz was world class.
