I travel a lot, and Bonvoy is my preferred Hotel program. I traveled during the pandemic, and got used to poor or missing services, breakfast in a paper bag, short staffing, housekeeping issues, and more. This hotel is, by far, the worst property I have ever stayed in. And I think the honors belong squarely with the General Manager, Mr. Zamora. He has no business in the service industry. I needed a room for one night, on a Tuesday. Baldwin Park is not a garden spot to begin with, but I booked the room for myself and a guest because it was inexpensive. Platinum Elite benefits say that a room upgrade will be provided "subject to availability". What I didn't know was that "availability" is a subjective term. The GM handled checkin. I provided my license and credit card before I was asked, but then had to produce my AAA card too, as Mr. Zamora is the only person who has ever asked for that before. I entered the number when I booked the room, but nothing gets past this genius. When I asked about a room upgrade, I was told that none were available. I told him that was unusual. He told me that there are eight suites in the hotel, but that none of them were available. I thought it was strange that all eight suites were booked on a Tuesday night in Baldwin Park, and he said that they were a business hotel. In any event, a quick search of the Bonvoy app revealed that several of the suites I asked about were available to book. I brought that to Mr. Zamora's attention, and he said that they were only available for full price, and that he wanted to keep them for that purpose. On a Tuesday night, at 6:00pm. The room I got was ok. Dated, but sufficient. The television didn't work. I will never be back. I'd rather sleep in the car than deal with the guy who's tasked with running that business. I've read similar reviews of this property on the Marriott website, and I wonder why Mr. Zamora is still employed. I've written corporate as well.

It looked like a nice place to hang but wasn't open.

As for the property, it is okay for the price but the service is terrible. It charges for parking in a suburb where free parking is plenty. I checked in online through the app but upon arrival I was still asked for my drivers license, credit card and proof of my AAA card and issued physical room keys. At this point what is the purpose of checking in online??? I had requested for two bottles of water and the front desk charged me $2.28 plus $0.22 in tax per bottle. The property does not have a complimentary water policy as many other hotels do. As a gold elite, I am disappointed and last time I stay at this property.

Due to Covid the pool is closed, the bistro is closed and the gym is closed basically everything you would normally enjoy at a hotel and that did not bother me one bit. Face masks were required while walking through the hotel. They really have their security in place to make guests feel secure. You do have to pay for parking, but I think it was like $6. Soon after check-in the front desk called to make sure our room was acceptable and to see if we needed anything. Out of the 4 or 5 hotels I stayed at on this trip, they were the only hotel who made that call. Guess what - a standard room with a microwave and refrigerator (read my other reviews as far as the microwaves in rooms). The hotel is close to restaurants, stores etc. I could have been in a bunker because we didn't hear anyone else at the hotel. I appreciate the soundproofing. I slept so good that I wanted to know if it was the mattress, but I forgot to get the brand before we left. I really have absolutely no complaints about this hotel.

Poor customer service. They charged me for parking when I did not have a vehicle. I told them at check-in. However, they still charged me. I spoke with the general manager and he has to wait until the worker return to work to verify that I did not get a pass. It seems like a lie because he seems to mention the night auditor, whom did not check me in. I will file a dispute with my card company. Check in was horrible. The elevator was not working properly. The bath room needs upgrading. Sink drained very slow. I only stayed for 2 hours, left and did not return. But they still want to charge me for parking.

The staff is very accommodating and helpful. This was a clean hotel that has a nice pool and spa. They follow all the COVID-19 regulations. The upper hallways on the floors are very warn but the rooms are cool. I would recommend this hotel. Steve Concialdi

Positives * We decided to use our Marriott points to stay at this location because it wasn't too far from central LA, and it didn't require as many points—excellent value for a Marriott. It was conveniently located just off the freeway but just far enough from the walled freeway for traffic noise to be imperceptible. * We were able to sleep very well because the pillow was just right (airy but cradling the head with sufficient support), a comforter with a little more weight than average, and pillow top mattress. * The room was spacious enough (compared to the Hampton Inn we stayed at in Palmdale) and warmly contemporary styled as Courtyards are, which we like. Negatives Weak toilet flush, if that matters—risk of clogging Breakfast not included $6 overnight parking charge, which I hadn't expected but not too pricey

Overall positive experience. Stayed for 1 night on points. Yes entire hotel could use some updating, but the rate/points reflect that accordingly. Room and facilities are clean, everything works as they should. There’s a charge of $6/night for parking which is very reasonable for the L.A. area.

1. The hotel has very bad welcoming staff. 2. No Breakfast service. (although they say they have strict breakfast timings) 3. Hotel, in fact, doesn't have a restaurant too. (even the staff agreed it is the most disgusting stuff) The only thing they have is a tine Bistro/Starbucks where u have 3-4 options for breakfast/lunch/dinner. Vegetarians/vegans forget about eating. Non-vegetarians, nothing except 2 chicken sandwiches and stuff. 4. Hardly any choices for cocktails/beers. 5. Only 1-2 people in the entire bistro to take, make, serve, bill for orders. 6. Discomforting beds. 7. They charge for parking too. Really? Room service is done daily. However, do not expect your things to be in the same place after the room service. Also funny but true, you cannot reach the toilet rolls from your seat. Take it prior to doing your business, else face the consequences.

Was recently at this Marriott for work for two weeks. What a Great stay. I start off by saying Robert and Cynthia were the BEST. They both work at check in and are two hard workers that are willing to help anyway they can. We had some problems checking in and they worked hard to get it fixed. I would like to Thank them both. Now let me go on to say how the staff at the Bistro was awesome. From Anisssa to Chris, Aaron, Adrianna, Johnathon, Mario just to name a few. All there staff all over the hotel was Great. The rooms were very nice and up to date. Bed slept great and ac blew cold. Thanks to the cleaning staff for all there hard work. Thanks to all from my wife and I. What a great time in California and a Great stay at the Marriott Courtyard Baldwin Park. Gracias por todo

Quiet comfortable rooms. Clean. Hot shower and stable Wi-Fi. This Marriott is a little different than the rest! How do you ask? Smell the towels!! Huh? Yes, smell the towels! This little extra won 5-stars! They wouldn't reveal their secret though. Lol
