Wow, even though I would not likely have eaten at the Idle Spurs again since I live in NorCal but I am sorry to read of its closing. I frigging loved the place! My very first job at of college had me working at Ft Irwin and staying in Barstow and the Idle Spurs was something I very much looked forward after a long day working plus the 1.5 hour RT commute to and from the Fort. I visited it in early 2000 which was years after that first job -- I deliberately chose to stop by on my way to Vegas and have lunch which did not have the menu that dinner had but it was swell. It is maybe hard to explain to young person how saddened you can be as someone getting older when a memory from the past dematerializes.

This place is my favorite restaurant. Of all restaurants I know I prefere it most. I always suggests to my friends to go to visit this restaurant. everytime I feel like having a decent lunchon, this is the place that comes straight to my mind. exeptionalgorgeous and varied food and a large menu.courteous team, and good mood. And very important, the charge is fair. I suggest this spot with great pleasure.

Sadly, the Restaurant has closed for now. It is up for sale. But the owners and management are enjoying their retirement. They still let you dry camp on their RV lot for now. Try it out. Hopefully the restaurant here will re-open. It is our favorite place to go every time we passed through Barstow. We did find a new favorite restaurant to go to in Barstow called Los Domingos and it is in the Quality Inn lobby, 1520 E. Main St., Barstow.

We were passing through and wanted I stop and have a nice relaxing dinner (not at a chain). This place hit the spot. The people are friendly and the service was excellent. The food was very good. We don't eat steak very often, and when we do, we want it to be outstanding--it was. The decor is western, but not kitschy. We weren't expecting a view in Barstow, but we could see the lIghts from the valley from the large windows and it was lovely.

Nice western themed steakhouse. This is my very first steakhouse experience and I loved it. I ordered the house special prime rib and my girlfriend ordered the bone in steak. Both cooked to perfection with delicious sides. My only complaint is the peach cobbler wasn't all that good.
Steak, salmon are great! Terrific staff! We eat here whenever we come thru town for a night!

We were traveling through and decided to give this place a try based on the reviews. Coming at night, we were a little worried on the drive over, but once inside we were happy we came. We each got salads, which were delicious. Benji, our server was great. And the vibe in general was great. Kind of a western throwback. Highly recommend.

Great service! I came in right before closing and was greeted warmly. Amazing interior decor. Free wings appetizer from using Yelp was delish! I had the pork chop and it was cooked perfectly. I asked and received double veg and no starch, (no extra charge) & the vegetables were cooked perfectly. The salad is made in front of you by your waitress. Truly an outstanding meal. I will definitely be coming back.
