Driving home from Vegas and wanted something moderately healthy.. this popped up, so we decided to stop here.

Food was delicious, hot, and very reasonably priced.

I ordered the steak veggie bowl and a shrimp side (2 skewers of 5 shrimp. I ate one before taking photo).

Definitely stopping here on my next road trip!

'Just Grill It ' is next door to the Travelodge Motel where I'm staying in Barstow, so I decided to give them a try. I read some of the reviews, and one reviewer suggested the chicken teriyaki bowl, and that's what I ordered with vegetables. I came late near closing time, and they had already locked the doors, and the sign on the door said they close at 7:00 instead of 8:00 shown online. There were two young ladies inside, and I heard one of them ask the other if she should open the door. The other young lady gave her permission to open the door, and they let me in and took my order. I'm a black man, so that in itself was a plus. I had been seeing this place but was a little hesitant about trying it because of the way it looks from the outside. It looks okay, but it was just something about its outside facade appearance that didn't necessarily appeal to me. But when I got inside I found it very clean. The sign says they offer a restroom for customers. I was very pleased with the meal, it was hot and didn't take long to prepare. The broccoli and cabbage vegetables were fresh and cooked just right, and the chicken was tender, and the rice was good. All the ingredients were of good fresh quality. The two young ladies working were very polite and courteous. I was able to eat it while it was still hot because the place is just a few steps, maybe a hundred feet from where I'm staying at the Travelodge Motel. I would certainly recommend this dish. A very enjoyable late evening meal. I'm glad I decided to try it and would definitely try it again. [UPDATE]: I went back the next night and didn't have quite the same satisfying and pleasing experience as the night before. One of the young ladies who was working last night was working the drive-through window, but there were two men working in the back kitchen tonight. I ordered the chicken teriyaki vegetable bowl again, and I also ordered the Teriyaki ribs plate, which cost $21.00 alone. Some of the chicken in the bowl seemed a bit stringy and not as tender as the night before. There seemed to be a mixture of stringy and tender chicken, and the vegetables tasted a bit gritty, as if they hadn't been washed thoroughly or perhaps even dropped on the floor. I'm not making that accusation because I don't know, but it makes a customer think all kinds of things when their food tastes gritty. The young lady working the front counter first told me that they were out of the chicken bowl, but the man in the back heard it and said he could do it, so I just think he may have just made do and threw something together to make a sale. I guess it wasn't that bad because I did eat it, but it just wasn't as enjoyable. But on the other hand, the teriyaki ribs plate was absolutely awful and nowhere nearly worth the $21.00 it costs. It was all bone and gristle with virtually no meat. I had a whole pile of bones and gristle on my plate after trying to get through this meal. I felt like I had been cheated, and I may not go back for the other dish that I enjoyed so much last night. Even if they were to offer me a free replacement, it still wouldn't be worth the $20.00 and I wouldn't even accept it anyway because you can't eat bone and gristle. I hope 'Just Grill It' improves on the ribs plate dinner, for their sake, because I can't see customers buying that a second time. It's just no value for the $21.00 it cost. I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to change my previous 5-star rating and lower it down to about 2 stars because of it.

Parking: They have a small free parking lot that is ample enough for the business that comes and goes there

Absolutely delicious.
I got the chicken and beef bowl with rice and veggies. It was perfect. The meat was tender. I like the fact that the veggies were boiled. Makes for a perfect meal. Very healthy.

Highly recommend and definitely be back

Okay, I must admit that I almost didn't stop here because if we're honest, the outside and the building itself look like they've seen better days. I had to look up reviews online to make sure I wasn't going to get myself in a food poisoning situation. Yes, although the outdoor menu and building could use a lot of sprucing up, the food is marvelous. The rice was perfectly made, and consistency was sticky yet loose and not mushy. Veggies perfectly steamed, and the steak was pretty tasty. A good stop for those of us traveling between Las Vegas and California. Highly recommended. The drive-thru sealed the deal for us.

I visited this restaurant hoping to find something similar to Japanese food. They serve dishes like Yakiniku Donburi. The taste was just as I expected and it was delicious. When ordering, they ask if you want chopped green onions on top, but I was a bit confused because my English isn't very good.

However, just like other donburi places in the US such as Yoshinoya, the rice cooking wasn't perfect; it felt a bit undercooked for a Japanese person, so it wasn't completely satisfying.

Even with the yen's depreciation, thinking that this would cost around 2500 yen in Japan makes me feel that the current situation with the strong dollar and high inflation has gone too far.
