My family used to love eating here but the last few times it's not been so good the carne asada was very tough in my husbands burrito as well as on my carne asada plate and on September 29th I ordered the 15.99 breakfast burrito special which the potatoes weren't even brown they were just soft to chew.My sister ordered the tamale plate which should of said corn tamale no meat because there was nothing but masa I saw absolutely no meat in her tamale whatsoever.Most likely won't return because we are here two weekends in row and both times the food was disappointing and on the 29,the of September my bill was almost,70.00 yesterday my husband and my bill was almost 36.00.

Place has real, I repeat real Mexican food The meats are marinated in real historical traditional style, And served generously with traditional side ingredients. Try the hungry man special with cabbage instead of lettuce, my favorite.

Very small roadside resteraunt got the carnitasl tacos very bland. The meat was dry. It just didn't have much flavor had to drench my meat with the red sauce, and chips were delish.
They are the best Mexican food I ever have ate there.

Left Barstow in 2007. Tried many Mexican Mom & Pop places from Kansas City Mo, to Houston TX, to Dallas/Ft Worth TX. Most of them would’ve been ok had we never known Platas, but they do fail in comparison. Happy to come home and still have this deliciousness available!!!❤️

Delicious as always! Tried the menudo from then and it was DELICIOUS 10/10 recommend, I also love their Chilaquiles Verdes and their taquitos the burritos so delicious love going to platas never disappointed
