If you're a woman. Please stay clear. The bathroom has a two way mirror. There were men offering to buy drinks then I'm pretty sure they added their drinks to our tab. Scammers. I've been going to midway for 15 years and would never feel safe there again.

Awesome bar! It reopened and it's been great. We LOVE the bartender. He makes every customer feel like family. We used to come back in the day before it closed down due to covid, and we weren't sure how it was gonna be when we first returned but the moment we walked in, the bartender was welcoming and made us feel at home. We've LOVED it ever since. Nothing but good times. We can't wait for the official Grand Opening!

So my friend and I were at Rokka earlier (amazing place by the way!) and felt like having a beer. Only place close by that was open was Midway Bar so we walked there and sat down at the bar to order. I'm assuming Alex was working the bar because as soon as we sat down and tried to order he asked me if I was Violeta. I said yes, that's my name. Then he proceeded to say that I had been there before and left a review on Yelp and that it was a whole essay. I felt completely awkward and attacked and even my friend felt uncomfortable at the way I was being talked to. I admitted that if I left a review it had been for a reason and it had been some time ago so I didn't remember what it said. I asked if we were going to be served and Alex said yes, I'd love to serve you, I want to solve this now. It seemed he was very upset and my friend was extremely uncomfortable at this point and felt threatened so I asked one again if we were going to be able to order and have a drink there without any problems. Alex said "yeah sure, but are you going to take the review down?" It seemed his condition to pouring paying customers a beer was for me to take down a review from 7 months prior. I looked at my friend and he shook his head and I simply said ok, thanks but nevermind we'll just go. Alex looked at me smirking and said "yeah, uh-huh, you guys have a good night." We essentially got kicked out of a bar for a review from 7 months prior. Not sure how you're supposed to "solve" a review, but that was highly unprofessional, awkward, and downright rude. Definitely never coming back here if that's how customers will be treated. Are we to be scared of leaving reviews for places now at the risk of being confronted for them MONTHS after the fact?
The service is fantastic; the beer is always cold, and plenty of TVs to watch sports. In addition, the seats are comfortable, and the restrooms are always clean. The perfect bar IMO.
