Simple but delicious place. Excellent vegetarian rolls. The vegetarian miso was okay. The rice tea was too watery. Overall, would go again for the veggie rolls.

Yama Sushi is one of the Belmont restaurants that always hits the spot. I usually order for takeout but decided to sit in this time. The dinner Bento Box is a 3 item selection of delicious options. Glad I stopped to dine-in.Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options

Not fancy but everything I’ve had here has been good. I love the bento box option and the veggie dragon roll. They’re friendly and reliable. I don’t live too far away and this is one of our go-tos for fresh, fast, good, and not overly speedy.

Most people order DoorDash or something from here, but it's nice to dine in as well. They're very friendly, and the happy hour deals are great! The food is wonderful of course.Vegetarian options: Vegetarian rolls and soup and salad available.Dietary restrictions: Gluten-free options availableKid-friendliness: It's small, but there is a booth

I ordered delivery from Yama for a few years. It was always quite good, and I frequently ordered sashimi. One day, I ordered some sashimi that arrived covered with pearly sludge. The sludgy sashimi was stinky. It was quite simply, not correct. I got in touch with Yama to request a refund for the sashimi (not the rest of the order, which was fine - just the smelly sashimi in the slime sauce). Unfortunately, they questioned me at length about this, and not in a good way; they suggested that I didn't know how to tell when a raw fish had gone bad. I ate sashimi a minimum of once a week, and have eaten other foods by mouth in the decades I've been alive. so I have had plenty of lived experience behind my decision not to eat something that set off warning alarms in three out of my five senses. The way I was treated that day led me to stop ordering from Yama after that. I was sad about that, but IMO you can't take any chances with raw fish; I think most people feel like they prefer/need a high level of trust in their raw fish purveyor, and I didn't have that anymore at Yama.

I have been eating at Yama since either 2013 or 2014 - almost 10 years. The food has remained the same, menu and quality. It's not the absolute best but it satisfies my craving and for an amazing price I can't get anywhere else. The services is amazing. Before the pandemic: good, yelp delivery/ Grubhub? Okay. During pandemic: good but with diff bis hours. Post-pandemic: good, door dash aspect super convenient.

Honestly my favorite restaurant growing up and remains a gem. Every morsel was fresh and flavorful. The sushi is incredible especially spider roll. My husband loves the miso soup there's something special they do to it.

Ordered take out only but food quality seems higher than average compared to other sushi at the same price range. Delivery is always

I ordered sushi for two set, through a delivery service, as a result I received a very mediocre level of cuisine. It was evident that saving money is the most important thing for Yama, they didn't even put chopsticks for me. I do not recommend this service, do not waste your money and time.

The food here is delicious! The waiters are very accommodating, and attentive! Love their customer service. The sashimi here is to die for! Extremely fresh! But, if you aren't into raw sushi, I would highly recommend their dragon roll, as it is delightful! Overall, the food here is always consistent and does not disappoint. I always leave this place with a smile on my face. Highly recommend stopping by this small sushi restaurant, truly a hidden gem in Belmont!

Came here for their happy hour. Loved their $3 beer and sake. They offered BOGO at 50% (discount taken from the lowest rolls). In terms of taste, they used the same salty sauce on most of their rolls. They started to all tasted the same to me. I preferred sushi kuu due to better quality and freshness in their sashimi.

Placed a large order for 20ppl. Since delivery didn't look like an option from their website to get the 114 piece sushi party platter, I originally considered picking this order up from Yama Sushi in SF since I'd be coming from SF and heading to work. But after answering just 2-3 of my questions, they hung up on me TWICE mid-sentence of me asking my next question!! I gave them the benefit of the doubt-maybe it was a bad signal the first time. Yeah... no... I gave up and decided to try my luck with the Belmont location. Sooo glad I went with that location instead!! Jin & Steven were super helpful with suggestions and were patient answering ALL of my questions because, I asked several and kept pondering what to order ensuring enough food for everyone. I knew there would be some people who don't eat seafood or sushi, so I planned to order some chicken entrees. I wish I was joking but, what are the odds that 6 out of 20 people in a department have different dietary restrictions!!?? It's a lunch organizer's nightmare!! I have a gluten-free, shellfish allergy, pescaterian, no beef eater, and a no pork eater. Luckily, the vegetarian in our group wasn't going to be at the lunch. I asked Steven if they could put the sushi w shellfish and sauces that contained gluten in a separate container from the other sushi. They did that in addition to labeling the dietary restriction packages, "contains shellfish & gluten"! That made my day along w/ my shellfish allergy and GF people! They also provided additional signs for each of the different entrees ordered. It allowed me to set up the food with the signs and no one had to ask me what the entrees were. Yama Sushi made it so easy on me! I was originally given a $20/person budget and was within that price in my original order. However, thanks to Covid, my VP said we can spend more to increase variety because we haven't used our budget too much. Yay! That was added bonus! Here's what I ordered for my group and it ended up being ~$30/person: 5 x Oyako Dons 5 x Chicken karaage entrees 5 x Salmon teriyaki entrees Medium size (114 piece) sushi party platter Gyoza party tray (30 pcs) Fried chicken wing party tray (30 pcs) Edamame tray Total w tax & tip: $703 My group loved the variety offered. We had some first time oyako don and karaage eaters who are now converts from teriyaki dishes. The food was still pretty warm when it arrived. Most importantly, they were so impressed with the freshness of the sushi and loved all of the food. They kept asking where I ordered from. They delivered to my office in Menlo Park for free, arrived on time, and the delivery guy even helped me bring my cart of food to our lunch area. I just expected him to unload the food from his car onto my cart, and leave. They provided OUTSTANDING customer service from the phone call, food delivery, and food packaging!!!! Thank you so much, Yama Sushi - Belmont, Jin, Steven, and delivery man!! You made me look like a huge rock star today among my colleagues! I provided your website to them in hopes they'll patronize your business and be another happy customer.
