It's Oktoberfest all year long at Tyrolean!Delicious food and a great atmosphere. The cultural folk vibe in the woods is so unique and fun.Naturally, lot of Keto options
The cleanest restaurant in Santa Cruz county. The atmosphere is like you're stepping back into a 1930s Austrian cabin. It is a very family-oriented restaurant, with charismatic staff who dress the part.
First timer here. Upon walking up on the railing to enter already received a compliment on my coat, just immediately felt welcome. Nice cozy vibe, indoor and outdoor seating. Our server Violet was just an absolute cutey patutey. Good honest conversation, no awkwardness whatsoever. The moment me and the hubby looked at the menu we were blown away and had no idea what to get. We ordered the sausage app and breaded mozzarella app, along with the extremely flavorful chicken noodle soup. They have an 8 option beer flight sampler that we had to get because we couldn't decide on what beer to order. The prices are super generous for the portions this place dishes out, we couldn't believe it. The beers were so delicious and flavorful, I personally was more drawn to the dark/amber ale's and Kolsch. We both ordered steak dishes and the meat was cooked to perfection. To end the evening we took a shot of German liquor, Apricot and Pear that just tied the entire evening together. We highly recommend this establishment and will be back whenever we get the chance! Thank you staff of Tyrolean!
Marvelous German traditional foods. Tall stines of beer. Indoor and outdoor dining. Great ,fun servers. We are becoming regulars here!
Great food and atmosphere
Prices were very reasonable for huge portions! Beer was also very reasonably priced. We LOVED our food snd cant wait to go back.
You know,,,,I love the food(not many German places any more. I love the atmosphere, tyrolean, in the woods. Great beers pretzels .but always under staffed. Be patient. I always struggle with this part, but worth it.
Cool Tiroler place in the Santa Cruz mountains. Weird, but fun! Classic Austrian fare and of course great German beers. Highly recommended!
The parking was a little tough. This was my first time here. My friends had mentioned that they had a buffet but due to Covid, the buffet was no longer offered. You had to pick from a menu. The food took a bit of time, but we had a party of twelve so that may explain it. I did not see much of the interior as we ate outdoors. Be sure to bring a coat or jacket as there was no outdoor heating so it was cold. The toilet was clean. Our server had a pretty good memory as she kept the beer and food orders straight. The beer and food were very good.
We were anxious to try some German food and we found this restaurant and drove to Ben Lomond to go there. The menu was good the food was good but wasn’t exceptional.… The service was very good. I would return

This is the second time we've been to this restaurant on our way to Santa Cruz. They serve authentic German food and it's consistently good. This time we sat outdoors and enjoyed the nice weather under the redwoods. We tried their Holsteiner Schnitzel with capers and anchovy sauce which added just the right amount of saltiness to the breaded buttery pork cutlet. If you are a Schnitzel fan, this is a good place for a satisfying bite accompanied with authentic German beer.
Absolutely a gem the table close to the fireplace is the exact spot I told my “now wife of eight years” when we were dating, I held her hand looked her Deep into her eyes and told her I loved her the meals are traditional and exemplary the choice of beer and wine are phenomenal compliments to the meals!! I go as often as I can to support these wonderful people who hold such a high standard for the German culture plus PS their lunch is so good I recommend any sandwich and they’re hot pretzels with a cold beer and a bratwurst?? ??? All the regulars and locals would agree we need to do what we can to support and preserve this cozy and wholesome restaurant for many years to come??
Scrumptious food, awesome staff!! It is always a pleasure to visit our friends at the Tyrolean Inn. Make sure you order soup. It's always delicious. Yesterday's soup was "roasted red bell pepper soup". I liked it so much I bought more to take home for lunch today. I had Jagerschnitzel (Thin pork cutlets in a creamy mushroom sauce) served with a side of Käsespätzle, House made Spätzle with a cheese sauce and roasted onions. OMG, I love both of those items! They treated me to a birthday dessert, Apfelstrudel Apple strudel, served warm, and added the optional vanilla ice cream. I asked, "Can I just live here?" My cousin/dinner partner said, "Well, they have cabins in the back, and there are homes around here..." I said "No, HERE!" The restaurant is so cozy and heartwarming, you don't want to leave. We stayed and talked for a couple of hours. Two fireplaces were going and keeping the afternoon chill at bay, and the warmth of the staff is the topper. Loved it! We've been there many times, and always have an excellent, memorable experience.
excellent atmosphere and food
The beer was great. However, the food was uneatable! I ordered the Reuben sandwich. The bread was stale. The sauerkraut tasted like it was out of a jar. And the meat was extremely dry. I asked for mustard hoping that would help. I took two bites and ordered another beer.
