My husband and I stumbled upon Baxter’s while looking for somewhere to eat for my birthday. It ended up being the best meal we’ve ever had! We had a view of the water, had amazing filet mignon tacos (they were so good, we ordered another round to go), and our entrees were to die for! My partner got the Beef Wellington and it was melt in your mouth! I got the scallops and they were positively delightful! We had the pleasure of meeting one of the owners and not only was he kind, but you could see the pride he had for his restaurant. We loved it so much that we pretty much immediately decided were going there for our anniversary next month. I cannot recommend them enough.

If you have not been to Baxter’s….GO!! They have the absolute BEST smash burgers I have ever eaten. Everyone from the hostess to the bartender were so nice and accommodating. There was a birthday girl at the table next to us and the whole staff came out with glasses of champagne and sung Happy Birthday to her. Very nice touch! Small restaurant but no problems with seating. They are on first street in Benicia where there are a lot of dining choices. I have been to many of those restaurants but Baxter’s is one of the best. We will be back and I highly recommend.

First time at this restaurant we went for dinner on a Friday evening. We were able to get a reservation the night before for their speakeasy room. Restaurant was small and clean when we arrived. Staff was nice and courteous on greeting. The speakeasy room is well furnished, a little tightly seated and has a separate bar.
The food was all very good but nothing I would crave and need to come back for with the exception of the tuxedo cake. We ordered 4 drinks this evening, 3 cocktails and 1 mocktail. Half of these were excellent while the other half werent worth finishing.
I felt we got the value of our money here and overall were happy with our experience. The Restaurant afforded a nice and quiet spot for my wife and I to have a meal and conversation.

This restaurant is simply amazing! We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary with Baxters and couldn’t be happier with our experience. Michelle and Isaiah provided the best service we have had in years. They both made sure our evening was extra special. They even hooked us up with champagne on the house. The food was excellent. We had the scallops and the filet which were both cooked perfectly. The banana pudding is authentically straight out of the south and reminded me of my grandma’s she used to make when I was a kid. They have a secret ingredient that adds a unique flavor profile. Yummy! I Would go back just for the dessert :) With such personable service and great food we will easily be coming back again soon. Thank you to your whole staff for making our night one to remember!

Our friend in Benicia brought us to this lovely, self-described casual fine dining restaurant for brunch last week when we were visiting California. What struck me was the genuineness of the staff and the owners that radiates throughout the establishment. No phoniness and no stuffiness; there was a comfortable ease of shared enjoyment amongst everyone, fellow diners included.
Special compliments on the brunch mimosas and food (Croissant French Toast, anyone?), noting the attention to detail with each plate and glass we were served.
Kudos to the owners for creating this amazing space. We'll definitely be back on our next trip out.
