My favorite thai restaurant in yhe whole area always meet my sister there
It's no longer open
Nice people, good menu. Relaxing ambiance !
Crowded but good food. Go before the lunch crowd and the same with dinner.
Great gluten free options! They also have a wonderful happy hour with $5 apps & drinks. Rarely am I in Benecia, but when I am it will always be —Forever Sala Thai. ðŸ‘
Stopped by few times and it was never opened every time. There was no sign saying anything.
They served us raw chicken
Food was fantastic all the flavors and varieties you would expect at a Thai restaurant. Service was quite slow but the food made up for it

Very Good
Intricate interior with many unusual curios. Attentive unobtrusive service. Each Thai restaurant makes traditional dishes just a little different; I'm really fond of Sala Thai's take. We had fresh rolls, Sala salad, and garlic pork loin. The presentation was the best I've seen. The flavors were really rich. Go there!
Found Kay's restaurant again. Visited her two former restaurants. After she sold her restaurant in Benicia we lost track of her. Luckily we again found her restaurant in a different location in Benicia. No other Thai restaurant comes even close to her cooking. It's not often that I rate a restaurant a five star place. (Leave , some room for improvement). Kay's cooking doesn't need any improvement. Try it out you will like it. Now that we found her again we will.

We arrived right at lunch opening at 11am and was greeted by the owner chef Kay. She apologized that she would have to heat the water for the tea., but we didn't mind. We loved decor and we chose our own table by the front widow. My wife ordered the Pad Thai and I ordered an appetizer with romaine lettuce cups and an array of small dishes of veg and peanuts with an island sauce. Delicious. I had seafood curry. Awesome. After a short conversation about her career in cooking Thai cuisine we found out that Kay was acually the guide for Martin Yan's series of cooking episodes in Thailand. She will be ending her chef career next year as she told us she has been cooking in restaurants for 38 years. She now will be turning her energy to teaching Thai cooking at her place in Benicia. Dont miss her last year here. You wont be disappointed.
