This is our favorite bakery. Second place is not that close, both in terms of quality and proximity. They are consistently excellent and are innovative, too. Enough said.

Every Halloween they have a Benicia competition and One House Bakery has one of the most unique displays! This year was a Labulabu made out of bread. One of the nicer coffee shops with both seating inside and outside for the whole family. Great pastries, coffees, and items to eat too. Located in the heart of Benicia, there’s street parking available and the staff are nice and friendly!

This was very hard to post as this has become one of our favorite bakeries to visit and splurge on bread for the week. Let me start with saying we LOVE the seeded Epi. Onto the difficult part— the last three times we’ve come we’ve noticed a consistent lack of friendliness and service. Majority of the employees seem tired/stoned/annoyed. On top of it we found a lovely long black hair in our pastry after spending $63 on bread and pastries. While my six-year-old daughter and I waited in line for 20 minutes, we get to the front and our coldly greeted by young staff that don’t smile and seemed annoyed that we were ordering more than two items. We even knew exactly what we wanted. I can’t help but wonder why this place enforced facemasks so adamantly during Covid yet they won’t mandate Hair nets in a bakery. 🤔

We had the pleasure of visiting One House Bakery in Benicia, CA, and it was truly a unique and memorable experience. From the moment we walked in, we were captivated by the warm and inviting atmosphere.

We ordered an almond croissant, cinnamon pie, and meringue lemon tart, all of which were incredibly fresh and delicious. Each bite was packed with rich flavors, perfectly balancing sweetness and texture. To complement our treats, we had coffee, which was expertly brewed and paired wonderfully with the pastries.

The ambiance inside was breathtaking, offering a cozy and charming setting. We loved the variety of seating options—inside, outside, and a beautiful garden area, each providing a unique dining experience. It’s the perfect place for a quick bite or a relaxing break while exploring the town.

Beyond the bakery itself, walking around Benicia was a delightful bonus. The town’s picturesque streets and waterfront views made the experience even more enjoyable. One House Bakery is a must-visit for anyone looking for high-quality baked goods and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Parking: Free street parking available around.

Constantly closed around the holidays. 👎
Update: like everyone else, take all the time off you need after the busiest times for the business you choose?

Would sell my left sock for another croissant. Understandably on the pricy side but it’s a worthwhile attraction in Benicia!
