Pretty disappointed...read the good reviews and had high expectations for excellent seafood. We shared an order of crab cakes that were ok...would have been helped by a better sauce (remoulade was pretty bland) and better presentation...just plopped on some pieces of shredded white cabbage. I had the prawns and chips...prawns themselves were good but batter was bland and the tartar sauce tasted odd somehow...ketchup for the fries had the same problem. Fries were good tho and plenty...
Overall, I always enjoy Jacks. Spacious, good light, time to have conversation with friends. The canopies over the outside table ruin the view of the straits. Perhaps the owner can consider replacing them with pretty pergolas covered with vines.
The oysters were an absolute highlight and triumph. Otherwise the food was just OK, the service was excellent and very attentive. We had a nice outdoor table. I should've remembered a hat! Lobster tail was too salty and everything was a little overcooked. I don't send food back to the kitchen if I don't need to, and it was all good enough to eat.
