Overall a great cafe! My issue is random, but not insignificant. I went to the bathroom in the hallway right outside the cafe. I was in the bathroom for about 2 minutes and when I tried to leave, I realized someone had locked me inside. I was trapped inside for about 10 minutes until somewhere heard me pounding on the door and contacted the custodial staff in the building. This all happened around 2:30pm on Friday. I notified the 1951 staff and their response was that it wasn't their bathroom. While that may be true, I'm pretty sure many many ppl at the cafe use this bathroom considering there's only 1 single use bathroom in the cafe itself, this other much larger bathroom is in the same building and is ~30 feet away from the cafe door (in fact it's inbetween the cafe's indoor & outdoor seating), and there's no signage indicating that this non-cafe bathroom shouldn't be used or *isn't* associated with the cafe. So it's not the cafes fault, but I think they can play a more active role in preventing this from happening (which they don't seem to agree with). So because of that, I feel obligated to leave a poor review.

Not particularly thrilled with this coffee shop. The coffee was a little excessively sweet - not as first taste but after a few sips you realize it starts to hit you. Also didn’t taste the coffee as much as the milk.. and the pastries were not good at all. They were tasteless and rather dry. Also, the location was oddly quiet? Like I know it’s a coffee house but literally libraries are louder.. felt very awkward. Anyways, my experience was not wonderful - and I should add it’s not cheap either (to be expected by still).
Parking: Park in the church lot next door - $1/20 minutes or $10 all day.

Discourages human contact in favor of a giant touch screen. Confusion around orders placed. And then the coffee was kinda weak. I used to quite like this place, and it’s unfortunate how hard it is just to get a good cup of coffee near campus, at least one that isn’t pretentious.

Would give 5 but substituting milk with any nondairy options is so expensive for us lactose intolerant people ? Cost $1.50 just for a splash of cheaper, longer lasting almond milk like ain’t no way it should be so expensive.

Came in yesterday and every drink we had was amazing. I got the iced oat honey latte, my sister got the iced matcha, and my grandmother even got an extra dry latte. Everything was made perfectly, the matcha was the perfect level of sweet-but-not-too-sweet, and the latte was even extra dry as requested. Definitely top tier and would highly recommend. Plus, it's a great cause!
