Great food; chef obviously cares. Big portions as well. Service was friendly but not hovering. It was great to be able to talk and hear other person speak, unlike many restaurants. Highly recommend.
Loved that it was quiet and cozy for my conversation with my daughters. So often of late, it's impossible to carry on with talking. I've stopped going to those restaurants who feel like music and noise are hip (or whatever they think). The wait staff was attentive and the food was yummy.
I was the youngest patron in this establishment (41F, single). The portion sizes are great! The food isn't authentic 🇮🇳, but it's pretty good. Lamb Biryani was good but a bit dry. Sabzi Rangarang was good. It's a bit pricey. Not super crowded spot, might return.

We came with group of 13 ppl on Wednesday night. We ordered portobello mushroom, Lamb chops, Tikka Masala and Naan. Everything was so delicious. Our group really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service. We will surely be returning again.

Had the nonvegatarian tasting dinner. The food was okay but nothing memorable. Servers were attentive and always present when needed. We arrived the last 1.25 hours before closing so that may have affected the food quality.
I Ordered the special (vegetarian) dinner which had options to choose from- I had the vegetable samosa , spinach kofta, nan. Chutneys , basmati rice, and rice pudding for dessert. Plenty of food and at $28.00 quite a good deal everything was delicious. One minor issue was annoying. One or two fruit flies kept buzzing around me. Management should remediate this ASAP

I’ve been to many Indian restaurants and I’ve even been to India so I know what good Indian food should taste like. Unfortunately, the food here was not good, and the service wasn’t any better. The flavors were off and didn’t feel authentic. Very disappointing overall.

I've never ever had a bad experience at Ajanta. Top notch food with first class service in a lovely restaurant. This is the place to go for the best Indian food in the Bay Area in my opinion. And great for special occasions too - we went there for Father's Day this year and it was the perfect choice. Everyone loved everything they ordered from appetizer to dessert.
New owner. Food deteriorated. Very little meat or cheese in dishes, all sauce. The ban is good. Not worth the money. This used to be a good place. Too bad.
The service is impeccable and the food is unique and tasty. Not your typical Indian restaurant . I recommend reservations as it's a small restaurant and usually busy. .

Overall very happy w dining experience. We had lunch at noon on a saturday, & it was sumptuous
Consistently well prepared and delicious food. cordial servers. the owner is usually there and very welcoming. We go there about once a month - and have done for years.
When we called they told me that all of their meat was halal but when we reached there the waiter told us none of the meat was halal, so please cross check in case you follow halal restrictions.
Came here with my friend for lunch. The lunch special is an amazing value and the portions were huge! The owner was very attentive and taught me something new about how to enjoy the food with the sides. Great music and quaint for lunch. It's rare to get such a great value from a lunch special! We even needed a box. I will definitely be coming back for dinner as well.
First time been here, we really like the food, very delicious, rich of flavor, we tried chef’s tasting menu, which covers many favorite dishes. Talked to the owner who has been there for 30 years, he mentioned two chefs who have been worked there 26 and 28 years. Not easy to run a good business for such a long time.
