They make unbelievably delicious flaky biscuits. I just warmed up one that was baked three days ago and it had lost none of its deliciousness.

No seating. Coffee is better than average. Breakfast (shakshuka) was totally overpriced and frankly I’m embarrassed for them for having it as an option. Toast was burnt. Tomatoes from a can. Come here for a quick coffee to go. Nothing more…

Come here for the food, spend a couple of hours catching up with a friend or some work on your laptop. Plenty of parking nearby and friendly staff to help.

Food is great, wait is long and the service is terrible. Everyone who works there is frowning and looks miserable. I got an iced mocha that just had scoops of chocolate powder dumped on top of the ice, didn’t even bother to stir it and when I asked for a remake I got attitude about it. Then when my to go order came out the server tossed it at me as she walked past with no semblance of basic politeness.
I’m not interested in going back just to be treated so poorly. Do better with your customer service.

a lot of places serve great coffee, but there really is something especially good about the coffee here. The espresso is a bit better than other places I’ve tried while visiting Berkeley. All the employees have been very warm and friendly, and the food and pastries were yummy as well! Such a cute neighborhood spot. Highly recommend.

I love this place and frequent several times a week. They have great food and drinks and the staff is very friendly. I wish they would invest in a second register and encourage customers to have their orders ready by the time they reach the register. The line for this place moves incredibly slow. Often I want only a coffee and will be waiting in line for over 10 minutes.

Meh quality coffee. Truly blighted ordering system where people share a single line to order meals (slow) and order to go drinks / pastries. Great for food. Friendly staff. No parking and highly congested street area. Bottom line-- good place but avoid it for to go coffee.

Cute little cafe but it does get pretty busy often with a long ling at times. Their food is good but a litle overpriced for what they serve, at least for me.

I got their avocado toast, which they put some kind of garlic spread on, which was super tasty! Their pastries and dessert selection looks pretty solid so I can't wait to try those next time.

Great food & Fantastic service! Only thing i would say is most of the entrees on the menu are expensive. I got the ham and cheese sandwich with avocado and smoked salmon added to it. Delicious!

Great upscale neighborhood cafe with convenient assortment of pastries and good espresso. Aesthetic and atmosphere of the cafe is well kept and somewhere between quiet luxury and casual. Would come again with friends and family!

Asked for decaf but I don't think they got it right. I have a medical condition and my heart was racing for the rest of the day. Could have been dangerous. Please train your staff better.

They have excellent biscuits, and the rest of the food is pretty good too. Coffee is average. Atmosphere is pretty chaotic and tables are often dirty. No wifi. Still one of the better cafes in the area.

The best sausage breakfast biscuit I've had in the bay. Every piece of that biscuit was good. The homemade sausage patty and the soft scrambled egg beautifully blended with the cheese! All of it harmoniously well seasoned. Will be back!

LOVE.IT.HERE. Yummy food, fun and chill ambiance and friendly and efficient staff. We had the avocado toast, bacon egg and cheese biscuit, and banana bread. Highly recommend the hot chocolate which they make with ganache. Delicious! Perfect spot to enjoy outdoor breakfast with your pup

Baker & Commons Keeping it Racist. Ask comedian W Kamau Bell about his experience here. The current co-owner closed the restaurant and opened under a new name instead of embracing an opportunity to work with Bell after a waitress for the establishment assumed Bell was a homeless individual harassing patrons. Bell was actually speaking to his wife and her friends who were seated outside. The owners were given the opportunity to raise awareness about inherent bias, but decided just changing the name of their shop was a better fit for them.
