The service and ambience were simply excellent! Some of our food items lacked creativity but were good: Such as a simple, not very flavorful Tuna Tartare (which need not be served w/ rice). Something tells me that the kitchen's direction is to "Give them what they want," and while the menu looks great (lots of crowd-pleasing items), I suspect their is untapped talent in the kitchen amongst the chefs/cooks (& perhaps service staff)... Noticed a diverse front=of-house...

The place is rather pretty. The food is not very hearty. The charcuterie and cheese platter is really not amazing. I don’t recommend it for its slightly high price. Brussels sprouts are too seasoned and too soft. It’s a shame because the setting is beautiful.

On a recent trip to visit relatives we took time to visit the Berkeley Boathouse. Situated at the Berkeley Marina this establishment provides excellent views of San Francisco Bay and the San Francisco skyline in the distance. The staff were welcoming and attentive and we were quickly seated at our table. We began the evening with glasses of Sauvignon Blanc. We next added a calamari appetizer and entrees that included the Boathouse Cioppino (clams, mussels, scallops, seabass, shrimp...
