Overpriced, bad food. Also they have extra small plates so that you can't fit one normal portion on there but don't worry you will not go for a second time.
Overall it's like voluntarily paying $16 to eat highschool cafeteria food

Cafe 3 is my favorite dining hall on campus. Keep in mind that I'm unable to visit dining halls like Clark Kerr and Foothill due to their distance, but I've found that it's better than Crossroads and Golden Bear Cafe. Although Brown's offers good food, it isn't all you can eat, leaving me hungry in the end. Cafe 3's buffet-style operation, friendly staff, and cozy atmosphere make it the perfect environment for my study sessions. And when it gets a bit crowded and loud, there are outside seating options where it isn't as much of a problem. When the harsh bright lighting of Croads makes me feel like a bug on an examination table, Cafe 3's ambient yellows and earthy browns makes me feel right at home.
Although the food options can be somewhat limited and repetitive, it's still overall very good. In the mornings, they have plenty of plant-based foods, but when lunch or dinner come around, it can be a bit more difficult to find something if you are vegan. The plant-based foods leave something to be desired, but they are rather filling. Dessert options for vegans can be very limited sometimes; and although they'll always have something available for you, it might just be an oatmeal cookie, which isn't very appealing compared to the pies and cakes that others get to enjoy more frequently than you. The saving grace of Cafe 3 for a vegan is the salad bar, stocked with all kinds of veggies. My go-to salad, if you'll withhold your judgement of my tastes, consists of lettuce, corn, black beans, beets, cucumber, and chickpeas.

Dress code is pretty chill. I came in with only my robe on (nothing underneath 😩) and they didn’t care. Made a dope waffle. Some of the waffle mix spilled on my robe though. Had to lick it off.

Same deal as my review for Croads when it comes to the lows being pretty low and the highs being incredibly good. I'd say this place is definitely better than Croads, though there are fewer options. It's not the most vegetarian friendly, but there's stuff to have, and a lot of times I'd say it's enjoyable.

Best dining hall, no complaints
Anyone who thinks Cafe 3 is good is dealing with a case of Stockholm Syndrome. You are not eating Cafe 3: Cafe 3 is chewing you up, spitting you out, and leaving you to starve, sad and alone in the courtyard. I am physically repulsed by the sight of pasta at this point. If you have dietary restrictions, Cafe 3 is a rough experience.
Cafe 3 brunch is kinda gas though, and so are the waffles at Breakfast.
gave me food poisoning
I already gave a little insight into the horrors of Cafe 3 in my review for unit 3 as a whole but I believe it deserves a review on its specific page as well. Cafe 3 is not far off from eating food straight out of a trash can in downtown LA. You may think it’s edible at first glance but once you try to eat it, it’s like chewing on a rock that taste likes puke from the depths of Hell. It just doesn’t make any sense since they serve the same dishes as Crossroads which are decent there but at Cafe 3 they work wonders to make it taste as bad as possible. If you can even make it to the dining hall props for you because there are so many flies at the entrance of unit 3 you’d think you’re in cow country. Don’t waste your time waiting in the outrageous lines for food you can’t swallow. Hope this reaches as many students as possible.
Underrated
Staff likes to tell students no smoking when they smoke at that same spot with a bunch of cigarette butts on the ground.

The food is usually not as good as foothill but I like the environment
Honestly, the chubby asian guy with black glasses(on gbo week). During GBO WEEK IS TERRIBLE. He is calling names and SHOUTING WHAT IS YOUR GROUP! I was just walking to exit. He has the audacity to shout at students FOR NO REASON
Don't go in the first line. And the foods are kinda a hit or miss-
Nice food and clean environment.
Good coffee
