A sweet urban patio with tea and salads and breakfast stuff.

This is a long, overdue review. We used to come here often. When they're on point, it can be really good. When they're not, it's terrible. Process to order is annoying, wait in line, wait a while, pressured to pay in cash, guilt tripped that you didn't pay in cash. Vibe here with the servers and owner is beyond odd. I can sense a power welding, cheap owner who doesn't respect the workers or really care about customers. He is leering, and there's an unnerving energy he gives off. Pompous attitude. There was a young woman with short dyed blonde hair, a thick accent that worked there, maybe she's still there. Felt really gross. We'd come in and see her sitting at the front tables by the register, he'd be right over her, hovering, she was wide-eyed eating her food. I'm surprised he wasn't feeding her. The power dynamic was palpable. He definitely welded it. The workers seemed to be in fear because he was always watching them.
Anyway, focusing on the food now, there were so many instances where about 50% of the time, something was amiss. Once, there was a vegetarian breakfast burrito that had meat in there. Another time, the side order of breakfast potatoes must've been sweetened with sugar instead of salt. Gross. Another time, cashier wrote crispy potatoes but server said it wasn't written on the ticket. Okay... another time, the potatoes came to the table and the cashier says, "It's not crispy, but this is what they gave me."
I'd be surprised if you got a refund. This place no longer gets our money. It's just too disappointing, and I don't like the abuse of power.

I’ve been coming here for months now and have had pretty good experiences overall. Service has always been decent albeit it’s primarily self service counter ordering.

We stopped by today for brunch and I ordered the bacon scramble with no toast which I’ve had previously. The food arrived and it came with toast but no biggie as my BiL wanted it. They also got our drink orders wrong as well.

First bite in and I could instantly tell one of the ingredients was rancid. A few others tried it as well and said it tasted off. I brought it back to the counter and informed them that something was bad. The lady offered to make me a new dish and I asked for a steak salad. She then informed me that dish cost $3 extra and she could tell I was not pleased and followed up with they would just replace the dish without charge.

After waiting about 15 minutes, the food still didn’t come and I went back to check. She said it was still being made and it would be right out. Another ten minutes passed and another lady came out and said they had forgot to make my food and offered me a refund which I accepted.

When I walked back in to get my refund, the other lady said my food was ready and suddenly, it was now ready.

I understand things happen but rancid food coupled with poor service and forgetting orders is just a bit too much.

Ate here today, Sunday, around 1pm. Restaurant was quite busy. Sat insid because of cool temp outside. Ordered 2 eggplant sandwiches. Very loud and noisy inside. Order took almost an hour to receive our food. While waiting for our food, 3 other tables received their orders, ate, left and were replaced by new customers at the 3 tables. The new customers were served their food and were eating when our food finally arrived. The other 3 tables had ordered grilled sandwiches so it wasn’t a matter of them ordering something simpler tan our order. Spoke to the manager, explained the situation, and he stated that they were busy and backed up. Told him that didn’t explain the poor service. He did apologize and said he would talk to the chef. As we ere leaving, another customer stated that they had the same problem with the poor service.

I love this restaurant! Had a great salad here. The owner is caring and detail oriented, and I love the variety of lemonades available. The back patio was relaxing and a perfect spot for an afternoon.

I so want to love this place, but it has ended up disappointing twice now. The food is decent (with large portions), the outdoor dining is nice (sans some of the non-stop blabbering on all sides), but the service and overall logistics are ridiculous. First you order, then you walk way out to the backyard and find your table. Then someone brings you your food and leaves, not asking if you need anything else and not caring if you do. Want some ketchup, some napkins, some jam for your toast? Go get it yourself!! Which means walking all the way back to the front counter and through all the people again. Meanwhile, the flies and dogs and god knows what else are enjoying your expensive breakfast ? On top of that, the coffee cups are tiny and no refills! Just a big headache overall and so I can't recommend.
