Whoa! They have fish maw soup! I'm not used to seeing these kinds of ingredients outside of Chinatowns. I was so happy! The salt and pepper tofu was perfect--crispy on the outside and blisteringly hot on the inside. It wasn't too salty, either. The green beans were crunchy and delicious. My kid couldn't get enough of the seafood and tofu soup, which had some of the wispy bits of egg like egg drop soup except, you know, not dyed yellow. Food was copious for the price. Looking forward to going back!Earlier, we had the pan fried noodles as a pick-up order and the person on the phone asked if we'd be eating it right away or if we'd be eating it later, so she'd pack it accordingly. We said we'd be eating it later so she put the sauce into a container separate from the pan fried noodles. This was thoughtful, since it ended up being perfectly crispy with the right amount of chewiness when we put it together later.I really appreciated all the bok choy in the noodles. I'm tired of places that put in a ton of waxy white cabbage and carrots as filler. The number of shrimp wasn't skimpy, and they were juicy and big, not those sad wee ones. I'm looking forward to coming back to try more things!Google "Chinese restaurants 3.5 rule" if you get a chance.

Gotta love little hole in the wall places, the food was amazing and a dozen people came in to pick up while I was waiting for mine.

Food was okay, but service was super slow. Then again, I might have come during the rush.

Was busy, so I didn't try. It looked like a local Panda Express.

I was happy to drop by for some quick Chinese food. The reviews seemed happy enough. The staff was nice. But when the food arrived, the cutlery smelled like rotten food. It was so bad that I had to wash the spoon in the tea just so I could eat. The meat in the soup also smelled bad. The dumplings were super doughy and oily. I paid $20 for the meal but felt like I should have been paid to eat here. Not good.

Not so many Chinese restaurants outside Oakland Chinatown that rate a review. Yes, many around UCB campus that crush Chinatown. Ok, Chen's Garden is now on my speed dial. I will order dinner again and would like to dine in. Dining area very clean and many tables for singles or families. I like Chen's Garden, would you update or give them your review? Good appetite

This is one of the best Chinese places to me. Usually when I'm here there isn't very many customers. Their vegetable fried rice is top notch. I like the location and it's easy to find parking.

This is a place you come to for convenience and decent food. It's not one you make a trip from crosstown to eat. The food is cheap and good. I live in the neighborhood and this is the place I go to when I have a craving for Chinese food and don't want to travel far. I usually order the beef chow fun. They have a buffet style display for combination plates. There is seating for Dine-in as well. There isn't much of an atmosphere. It's your hole-in-the-wall kind of decor but it's clean. Street parking is usually available.

Mmmm. Bad tummy. Never feel too confident about a Chinese takeout with fried chicken wings and FF. As much as I luv that combo plate ...

I was on my way to a show and spotted this place. Being hungry I stopped in. I asked for a recommendation and after asking what I liked, the friendly lady there recommended the chicken combo over rice. Made fresh, right away, I could hear it sizzling in the kitchen, it arrived in minutes, piping hot. It was delicious. Just the right amount of hot spice and seasoning, nice lean chicken cooked perfectly with mushrooms, carrots, green peppers, onions, and peanuts. Very ample portions here and reasonable prices. No fancy ambiance but really good food and service.
