The food at this long running downtown Berkeley destination is generally quite good, and the service capable. The house mescal is fine and fairly priced. Front of the house has unusually good acoustics, thanks to a high-tech treatment by Meyer Sound of Berkeley. However the greater part of the seating is in the tent-top rear area that’s somewhat reverberant and drafty. Beautiful restaurant with extremely fast service and a beautiful ambiance. Sadly the food, at least for me, didn't live up to the other parts of the rest of the restaurant. I had the enchiladas which were just kind of meh. Not a lot of flavour/spice. The portions were mediocre. I ended up immediately going to eat a second dinner after them. Not a bad place by any means, I just wish the food lived up to the excellent service and atmosphere this restaurant had.
Fairly happening place on a Sunday evening. Food was delicious and service was prompt. We were seated outside for a group event. Overall, nice place with good food.
