Great customer service and delicious food! Their fried calamari with aioli dipping sauce is always a great starter. One of my favorites is their ribeye steak. Their tiramisu is the best I've had. And one of their bartenders makes the best kamikaze I've ever had.

Just did pickup from them tonight and it was a totally reassuring and efficient experience. We called, paid over the phone and picked up though their sliding glass window. Purell was on hand. And the food was great. They have the best fried calamari with a very light and crispy batter. My son's burger and fries was amazing and the ahi tuna salad and Caesar salad with salmon were likewise wonderful. Support them!

I love Cugini. The staff is very friendly and committed to great service. The food is delicious, fresh, and generous. The only thing I don't like is when the TV is on. Kind of crushes my fantasy of being in Italy.

This spot always delivers. They have awesome dishes for reasonable pricing, there no long wait even when the spot is full.

Amazing atmosphere, plus a dog friendly outdoor seating area so I can hang out and eat top notch food with my hound.

I've been to Cugini on numerous occasions. I usually have the pasta & meatballs, but once in a while will have the lasagna. The other night myself and 4 friends dined there and while the food was decent, all of us felt very rushed. This was a Monday night and the res, while busy, was not full. We used to attend quite regularly when a woman named Brook was there. We never felt rushed. The meatballs were also smaller.

My favorite pizza restaurant in Berkeley. Casual, delicious, unpretentious, and friendly.

I had dinner with friends at Cugini on Sunday. Hadn't been there for years. I was very pleasantly surprised by the yumminess of the food. Wonderful antipasto, delicious pasta and pizza. We arrived early to watch the Oscars and the place was empty but by 7 pm, it was full and very lively. Friendly and fun atmosphere. I look forward to going back soon!

We've enjoyed this restaurant for years, and we had a closed event birthday party there years ago. The owners worked with us for a great menu, and everyone loved the meal. We are regulars here, and I enjoy the food here even though I no longer eat dairy or gluten. We recently tried the gluten free pizza crust which is a good alternative to Little Star. The owners, Angel and the other staff treat us very well.

I hopped in here for a quick lunch when I was running errands in the area. I've strolled by this restaurant several times and dismissed it as a place that serves pasta and pizza, neither of which shows up on my menu these days. I had a hunch they had entrée salads on their lunch menu, and I was right. Maybe it was the Italianate strip mall decor that was the dead giveaway or perhaps the predominance of seniors dining here in their cleanest country club wear. I ended up ordering the $17 Grilled Salmon Salad which I thought was overprepared from the slightly arid salmon filet to the excessive toppings which included orange slices, pepperoncini, and candied pecans (photo). Probably not a new go-to place for me. FOOD - 3 stars...overcooked, overaccessorized salmon AMBIANCE - 3 Roma SERVICE - 3 stars...not intrusive TOTAL - 3 stars...middling for sure RELATED - Strolling Solano Avenue? We came to this restaurant for dinner. we heard about this place from quite a few people. Well, it was very nice. The staff members welcomed us with a smile and we had a fantastic feeling. The food was just great. We loved this place very much and we shall absolutely come back again. we highly recommend this place.

Nothing fancy but their wood fired pizzas and pastas are always delicious. Especially their pastas. If they have lasagne on special get it. You won't be disappointed.

The pizza was very yummy and the calamari was done Perfectly

The ribeye was good. The pasta was a little heavy. I like my sauces a little lighter. The fried calamari was also good. It's a nice little neighborhood place.

Ordered ravioli (sauce was super watery), fettuccine alfredo & a side of garlic bread, my bill came out to $60!! The food was standard & loaded with faaaar too much garlic that overshadowed any other flavor. Really disappointed, I've had $20 take-out Italian food better than this. Will not be back.

The raviolis and sauce was amazing.

The pasta was great. I especially enjoy my salad. Great spot when you want to get out of the house and don't feel like making pasta at home.

Great hidden gem in Albany, wonderful food...Love this place!!!

Small Italian-themed restaurant with good salads and sandwiches. Mostly for lunch. I think they also serve pizza.

Much under rated for what it is, and what it is, is a non pretentious Italian eatery with spot on cocktails, great appetizers and a few good pasta meals. The calamari appetizer is flavorful and allows you to relax until your meal is served. In particular I like the Rigatoni with Sausage, a no nonsense, robust, full flavor meal with generous portions.

It was a little slow at lunchtime (we came on a Monday), but the food was delicious. I had the Ahi Tuna sandwich and it was on point. Would definitely recommend.

Nice place for Italian food

I've always enjoyed the warm cozy atmosphere of this family run restaurant. Their Caesar salad and their margarita pizza are my favorites. Both delicious and generous. Wines by the glass are great and low corkage if you chose to bring your own.

Great Italian food. Dining area is a bit crowded, can be difficult to squeeze into booth seating... Waitress messed up out to go containers as she handed our containers to the busboy to bring back to our table.

First of all my pasta was very salty and my son's slice of pizza was cold and the cheese was hard. We let it go but the worst thing was we ordered a bronzini dish that came with mussels and the mussels had a rotten smell. When approaching the waiter to tell him that the mussels were rotten, all he did was take the bad mussels away. When approached him again to let him know that it's not acceptable, he said "boss is not here." No apologies nothing. Also we were missing a side dish and we had to chase him for it. First time here, bad experience, bad food. Will not recommend the food or service. I expect at least an apology for serving rotten seafood at the least.

I've been here a lot just for the calamari! It's so light and perfectly salted and the garlic aioli is TO DIE FOR. If you love garlic you might just want to take it with you to have and to hold til death do you part. The servers here are always super friendly and nice and keep the water flowing. My boyfriend and I found this place one day a while ago when we were trying to find a place to eat. We almost went to Barney's which is good and all but god I could not be happier that we crossed the street and happened upon our current favorite Italian restaurant. The crab ravioli is also a regular dish we order as well as the spaghetti and meatballs because I loveeee spaghetti. I also tried a crab pasta they had as one of their specials one day and I absolutely loved it. I am such a picky eater that it is rare where I find a place that has many different things that I enjoy. I have been meaning to write this review for some time and I kept forgetting but I am planning on going there again this weekend and had to make sure I gave the praise that this place deserved.

Cugini draws a fun crowd! We were the only table not drinking a bottle at midday on a Sunday. It really made me question my choices for the day. The restaurant had a cute atmosphere and had the window open so that even though we were seated inside it felt like we were outdoors. To top it off, the day was sunny and breezy! Margherita pizza: 5/5 - Thin, crispy crust, stretchy cheese with each bite, and basil. What more do you need in life?? Rigatoni alla calabrese: 3/5 - sauce was a bit sweet. Felt like something that was made in our own cucina. Fried calamari: 2/5 for me, 5/5 for my SO - tasted like frying oil to me. Also not a fan of aioli so when I don't like the calamari I can't drench it in sauce to mask the taste. My bad for agreeing to order this. - my SO thought it was perfectly fried and crispy, and he's a big fan of aioli so this was the highlight of the meal for him. I wish they had more Italian sounding items on their lunch menu (lots of sandwiches and salads). Otherwise, it was a pleasant lunch and I'd love to try them for dinner sometime! They have a lot more pastas on their dinner menu.

Excellent wine and Italian food. 8 service

excellent food and at a reasonable price. I definitely knew I had eaten there as the quantity almost required a take home container.
