So true to the name. So true to the flavors. Such warm service and a very friendly and smiling staff! Been coming so many times and a good chai pick up with munchies while in downing Berkeley or passing by Berkley.

This is real chai. The only time I’ve ever tasted chai like this was when my Sikh friends from the UK made it and shared their recipe with me. This is not your pre-made chai mix from a typical coffee shop. This is AUTHENTIC CHAI. Didn’t know I could taste chai like this at a cafe. Wow. Love love love.

As a chai-snob, this is the Best chai I’ve ever had! It is now a must stop for me every time I visit Berkeley. The cafe has such a cozy, relaxing atmosphere, and the staff is incredibly friendly. It’s the perfect place to grab a hot, steaming chai and just enjoy the vibes. 10/10

I had the aloo tikki paratha role & while it tasted great, the size was considerably smaller than the picture on the counter. Maybe the person modeling it in the poster had really small hands.

Best chai in Berkeley! Both their classic and their seasonal items are delightful and carefully crafted. The flavors are notably authentic. The atmosphere of the store is the finishing touch.

Amazing chai + elaichi bun, plus the atmosphere is fantastic...wish I could move to Berkeley from the peninsula so that I could go here much more often!

AMAZING! I love everything I’ve had here: karak chai, elaichi bun, pistachio cake, paratha roll. Lately the white choco pistachio latte has had me in a chokehold and I’m happy to submit. 😂
I actually disagree with a previous review that their drinks are overpriced. We as consumers also have a responsibility to lift up small businesses that we want to stay in business. This is a family business that has thoughtfully curated a flavorful menu of drinks and pastries, and at the same time well-represented their community. I think it’s a fair trade off that we pay a little more given they are investing in sustainable and ethical practices like farm-to-cup. Plus it’s not even overpriced. SB is overpriced. Lol!
But anyway, this place is amazing and I will be a forever customer and will tell all my friends to be customers!

Love the Karak Chai which has just the right amount of sugar for me. Also had the salted jaggery latte which was very decadent. I would have liked it less sweet, but still enjoyed it thoroughly. Love the staff and ambience of this Chai and Coffee house nestled just outside the university.

Loved their Kashmiri pink chai and the regular chai. It was so good and the chai smell instantly makes everything feel good. Tried some of their snacks too and it was amazing as well. Since food is always ready there is no waiting time.
Only issue is the parking - it’s really hard to find any parking. There is a paid parking garage right opposite to this place.

Karak chai is great but the seating is appalling. Tables are literally touching each other and there seem to be long timers who visit the cafe even while they are sick.
My whole family including my toddler got infected with a bad virus which we very likely caught from here.

I love Elaichi! I’d be a regular if there was a location in SF! The Kashmiri chai, pistachio loaf & kaju katli cookies are my all time favorites ❤️

I haven’t even had the chai yet but the line on a Sunday at 5pm was very long.
Also too many students doing homework. I understand you are in berkeley and you live by the students but having them take space doing homework with their laptops while paying customers are standing and while you are trying to be a trendy cafe may be a bad idea. You may want to limit the time they visit on certain popular times.
Ps I got the chai and I am going to stick to my rating. It’s quite milky and not sweet enough and also seems that it could have used more stirring.
