We visited this spot on a rainy day and really fell in love. There's not too much seating, so if it's busy you're out of luck. But it's cozy inside, the seating is comfortable, and their system is quite nice.
You select a tea and you get a kettle at your table which you can keep refilling for more steeps. The person at the counter is incredibly knowledgeable and they have a huge variety of teas for you to choose from. The tea descriptions are informative but the person that works there can give a lot more context and suggestions. We would love to come back and try more teas!

Been to this spot a handful of times. It's very cozy, the selection of teas is outstanding and the person serving at the counter always provides great recommendations. We love bringing a book and enjoying many many cups of tea from the same leaves. They always instruct you on how to properly brew each tea and the variety of pottery the tea is served in always brings me joy. Really happy to have this spot in our community.

The variety of tea is quite extensive and delightful — including white tea, oolong tea, green tea, black tea, herbal tea and more. The service is polite, attentive, and courteous. They explain in detail how each tea should be brewed. The concept and atmosphere are calm and relaxing. It’s a great spot to meet a friend or enjoy some peaceful time alone.

As along time tea lover I have been to nearly every tea house worth going to in the Bay Area, Far Leaves falls somewhere in the middle. The atmosphere is so peaceful and zen, the lighting so nice for a little snooze, a hushed chat or a multi hour session. The layout does not necessarily foster open conversations or community engagements(one of the most important elements of tea), think your own little zen cove. The teas are pretty decent with the occasional banger and occasional flop depending on your preference, yet the employees do not always understand which wares the teas are traditionally served in and you often get something like an herbal or Pu'er tea served in a vessel for Japanese green tea(this may not matter to you depending on your experience though) and they are generally not properly deep cleaned leaving the residues of various teas on a single glazed or unglazed pots. Employees and so nice and sometimes knowledgeable(shouts out to Brad! love you Brad!).
Remember, there is no wrong way to enjoy tea, It's your cuppa!
We came here to purchase some loose leaf tea to brew at home and opted for the silver tip jasmine. It has a wonderfully fragrant aroma and flavour and does not get bitter no matter how many times it’s rebrewed from the same serving of tea leaves. Highly recommend for some quality tea!

Wow. Very kind and attentive service. These are tea experts who are knowledgeable of different brewing methods depending on the tea. They introduced us to puer tea which is absolutely delicious and unique. We were in a rush so only bought tea to brew at home but hoping to stay a bit longer and do a flight of their rare teas some time. Also has a variety of decaf herbal options, including rose!
