Free Speech Movement Cafe

I come here mostly for the vibes of the outdoor section of the cafe—I love studying and working there. It’s just hard to find a seat sometimes.

rude male staff, dude at the counter refused to give me another plastic fork. this place price gouges students during midterm

Cashier told me I wouldn't be able to use my gift card (which had about $10 on it) for a $15 order. He showed me on his screen that the order would still cost $5, and then he charged me the full $15. But whatever action he took to show the order cost coming out to $5 on the screen emptied the $10 balance on my gift card.Not only was the cashier incorrect (I could have credited the $10 gift card balance towards the order, as my friends have done at other Stradavarius restaurants), but the cashier was brusque and rude throughout the entire interaction, and did not respond to my repeated concerns about the gift card, even though there was no line.

Their price is insane, ripping off students. While their female staffs are friendly, some of their male owners/staff are rude and incompetent.Food is food, but if you think this place is decent I’d Venmo you $15 to check out any other cafe on this planet.It is a shame that this cafe is at the heart of the university and carrying such a historical and prestigious name.

I enjoyed my chai latte. The art on the walls is cool. Service is whatever. Prices are reasonable. Students enjoy gathering in the cafe. My drink took only a few minutes which is nice

A nice on campus cafe for you to either grab something between classes, or just to stay and study or hangout with friends ?

*but I think their almond milk is vanilla flavored (?) so be aware of that if you don’t like vanilla note

Alright cafe on campusNot too many options with just ok coffee.PLENTY of study space and they give out pretty big cups of coffee. So if that's what your after, they got that here!
