My wife and daughter had an amazing time. Our server and chef were wonderfully engaging and took very good care of us. We look forward to our next visit!

There was misleading advertising on Yelp for promotions and birthday meals. The napkin didn't smell good. The birthday cake service was charged $25, and the staff member was not even good at dividing the cake—one of the few restaurants that I won't pick next time after one time trying.

The experience is always nice, they just need to change the show part. I came for Mother's Day so a month later I watched the same show. But our chef was nice and kept a conversation that included everyone. Food was good but it took quite some time to get everything started. Reservation was a 6:30, we got seated at 7 and the cooking started at 7:30. It was super slow. Overall we all liked the food.

We had an absolute blast. Our chef was phenomenal, the food was great, the ambiance was wonderful. We left very happy!

I had a wonderful experience at this establishment, thanks to the exceptional service from both the host and the chef who prepared our meals. It was my first visit, and it truly left a lasting impression. The food was excellent, from the appetizers to the drinks. Don't let the reviews keep you from giving this place a try — Hana Japan is definitely worth it! I was a little hesitant at first after reading some of the reviews, but I'm so glad I went. The food was really good — flavorful, fresh, and satisfying. From start to finish, it did not disappoint. The chef put on a fun and engaging show, and the servers were friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcomed throughout the entire experience. The atmosphere was lively and enjoyable, perfect for a fun night out with friends or family. Everyone at our table had a great time. I left full and happy, and I know I'll be coming back again. If you're looking for a teppanyaki experience with great food and great service, I highly recommend giving Hana Japan a chance. It exceeded my expectations!

Place to be if you have a birthday celebration. The meal for the birthday person is on the house up to $37, you can't beat that. Atmosphere is nice and the food is up to par. Can't wait til the next birthday. Thank you Hana.

Our friend and kids loved this experience so much as they were first timers to hibachi! The view was beautiful with the Berkeley marina right there. The experience and staff were wonderful and super attentive. The food was good. Not as generous portion wise as other hibachi places (don't get me wrong... I was FULL at the end but just same pricing with small portions). Also, my husband thought it was funny that they used pre-cooked chicken for the chicken fried rice... but he also said that he would come back again so... bottom line, pricey but fun place for celebrations!

Too much gas smell, I'm afraid it might explode one day. I think the gas is escaping. I love the food, but every time I go there, I get sick.
