What a wonderful experience! We have teppanyaki where we are from but this far exceeded our expectations! Chefs were very polite, experienced and efficient! Staff was friendly and helpful. The food was wonderful, seasoned and perfectly cooked! We will be back!

The chef makes this experience totally worth it. The food I have found is much better dining in. My previous to go order was nothing to write home about. I got shrimp and dry aged ribeye. I should've just gotten a regular one. Maybe it would've been more tender. But otherwise great food and the chef was very entertaining. Makes a great date night. However if you can't fill the table you will be sitting with strangers. And be ready to spend at the very least $100 if you're a couple. Remember at the very least ?so bring more lol. Most people were dressed casually so if you'd like to be fancy, it's totally up to you.

The place stinks (Smells bad) the moment you walk in. Furnishings, installed sometime in the 80s, are outdated and everything appears run down. The handicap elevator is in the service area along with a smelly dumpster. The food left a bad taste in my mouth after eating the combination of steak and lobster, For this price, there are other restaurants that perform better and do not smell. $450.00 for four adults, one child & minimum or drinks.

I had a reservation for 2 today for 4:30pm, I arrived about 4:45 and was told the hotel next available time would be 5:30 or we could be served from the bar. Best service ever, the bartender was amazing he was the mixologist, waiter... and he did it all gracefully with a smile. He made for a delightful experience and the food as always was delicious. All making for a relaxing great Sunday evening dinning experience.

Seems the chef was not happy or energetic, he did not perform well, not too much entertainment. I pay to watch fun stuffs from chef-cook, not a sad face on himself! Disappointed birthday party for son, he does not want to come back anymore

The first thing I noticed was that the restaurant was in an out-of-the-way place near some docks where I had never ventured before. Not conducive to a spur-of-the-moment, hey, let's stop there. I never knew this was there. (No points against them, I just thought I would mention it. We also found a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge near the restaurant.) We showed up early but had to wait as they did not have enough staff and they timed it for our reservation slot. Totally fair. We went to the bar and I ordered a Mai Tai. I have not had one in years and it was really good. The interior is looking outdated but I was there for the food. We were seated a the cooking table and noticed a table next to us with very little interaction from the guests. After they had completed their meal, the chef left and returned a short time later to our table. We were a party of four and there was another party of four at the table as well. Both groups were into the entire presentation and cooking and had a great time. Some people at the table were not fans of Teriyaki but he had them try his teriyaki he made at the table. Both individuals ended up being fans. The food was good and the rice I loved. The steak was a little dry but I had it with the Teriyaki sauce and it made a difference. I also had the chicken and it was tasty as well. If I was in the area again, I would stop by and have a bite. It was a fun experience with the preparation of the food and really, that's why I go to these types of restaurants as it is unique.

Great food, service and ambience. Our family enjoyed our hibachi dinner. We will definitely be returning in the future.

We had a groupon for this restaurant. Location in the marina area was nice. The restaurant itself is quite dated, the stairs were covered with some very worn carpet, and the interior was not any better. We started in the bar area for some drinks, had a Mai Tai and a beer... couple of the drafts were not available . The highlight of the dinner was the hibachi show ... our chef was very interactive and put on an impressive show. The food was good, had fried rice, with chicken and shrimp. We would return, but most likely only with a groupon.

On Valentine's Day, I was invited to have dinner at Hana Japan. At the beginning of the dinner, our Chef recognized a group of people coming into the serving area. The chef stopped his presentation and cooking at our table, went over to the other table, and began shaking the men hands and greeting the women in the party with a hug, and having a conversation with them while our food cooked on the grill. When he returned to our table and started to continue cooking our food, I questioned his ethics, integrity, and hygiene practices and asked him to wash his hands before proceeding. He became angry and threw his cooking utensils onto the grill, left the food cooking, and walked away from the table, never returning to our table, but he was allowed to cook for the table of the people he greeted.A few minutes later, Chef Juan came and completed the dinner. At the appropriate time, I spoke to the manager about the incident.Although we were compensated $35.00 on a $250.00 + and automatic 20% gratuity charge, the compensation did not cover the gratuity. Our Valentine's Day entertainment and dinner were primarily ruined!I will not recommend this establishment to my family or friends!
