Classy restaurant in historic hotel
Very unpleasant experience. Felt rushed and unappreciated as a customer. The food was bland, not hot, and definitely not inspiring. I had the risotto which was tasteless. Others were also not impressed with their food. Expensive and not gourmet in any sense of the word!
We're guests of a member so it's a bit churlish to complain, but we thought it could have been better. It wasn't as good as we remember. My wife's fish was overcooked. My pasta was so so. The escargots were good. Not what we expected.
À wonderful restaurant in a very nice location. Highly recommend.
Very rude and obnoxious place, we were celebrating a birthday day and the racist card was displayed
Nice high tea on Tuesdays.
I just had the best risotto I have eaten ever. This is a cool place. Really pretty and elegant. We were here to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. The drinks were amazing. For dessert we had the vanilla crème brûlée. The waitress was sweet and comped our dessert. Great experience.
Delicious food, great service, poetic ambiance!!!

Indifferent staff. Special occasion, empty restaurant, we dressed up and travelled for a hour only to find there’s no ventilation and we were offered the worst seating (despite most tables being free). Left without dining. Overhyped waste of time and effort.

The plus is the unique Gothic style Julian Morgan building. Architectural history in true form. I even like that it is an older small crowd that goes to exercise, eat, and have a drink. The food is picked with quality and no fuse. I ate the pork loin with carrots, veggies, and some finger potatoes. The coconut desert with fresh fruit was nice. The price was average given we had some cocktails. The servers were attentive. My date thought it was a sad place, but I disagree. I think it is an old historic place that would loose its charm if upgraded. Some of the items can never be replaced, because they just don't take care of detail like during the Goth period.
Vegetarian options: They have a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables on each dish and different grains. They would adjust to what is needed.
Parking: If you go after 6 there is free parking

a beautiful space in a historic building, with tables further apart than any restaurant I know, so you can easily have a conversation, good food with attention to detail,; a pleasure.
5 star all around for service, ambiance and deliciousness! Felt like we walked into a hidden world just steps from Cal campus. Portions were larger than we expected for French meal. Dinner and dessert hit all the right spots.
Julia's is serving lunch on Thursdays during the Summer on an outdoor patio. It is just lovely. the food is delicious, the service is outstanding, and the setting could not be more charming. All in all, it's a winner!
Wow. Wow. Wow. Incredible. Have been a devoted fan for many years, but whoever the 'new' chef is (as of a year or 2 ago?) has hit their stride BIGTIME. I felt like we were at Daniel Boulud's in NYC! I say this because the presentation is phenomenal and the composition of ingredients are stellar. Just a superb dinner with awesome service and the gorgeous ambiance of Julia Morgan's 'Little Castle"s decor. Such a completely unique and special place. We are so spoiled to have this right in our town of Berkeley!
