We arrived early so there wasn't any one around. The food was good and plentiful Our waiter was very busy but he took off photo. We ended up taking some of the food back with us.

We had another wonderful dinner at Julia's Restaurant last night. We had Adrian as our waiter again, which was a really nice coincidence. Like our last visit, Adrian was a friendly, nice, excellent waiter. There were three of us. We all got different entrees and everyone loved their dinner. My wife took a picture of her halibut dinner. She isn't usually a couscous fan, but she raved about it and was glad she ordered the halibut. I had the ribeye steak, medium rare, grilled to perfection. It was presented superbly on a wooden plank and everything was delicious. Our good friend had the braised short rib....another beautifully presented dish that was thoroughly enjoyed. We were very happy to go back to Julia's and look forward to going again soon. Highly recommend! (Earlier review) This review is a bit tardy. My wife and I had a wonderful anniversary dinner at Julia's Restaurant in the Berkeley City Club in August. From the beautiful ambience to the excellent service to the scrumptious food, we give Julia's high praise. We went early and enjoyed walking around the historic building "ooh'ing and ahh'ing" over the stunning architecture and ornate detailing everywhere. Morgan's Bar & Lounge has the most gorgeous stained glass Tiffany lamps (see photo) that fit the decor well. Our waiter, Adrian, was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and fun. The food was beyond amazing. We both had filet mignon (perfectly cooked medium rare) with bearnaise sauce; it was tender and succulent (see photo). The accompaniments, sweet potatoes and spinach, were all delicious. We had never been to Julia's before and now look forward to going there again for another great, special meal

The location has a classic European feel to it and the restaurant is very quiet and relaxing with fantastic food.

The perfect venue for an afternoon tea (which is offered on Tuesdays)to celebrate a birthday. This beautiful tradition seems so fitting in this gem of a restaurant that harkens to an earlier era. The high tea included a delicious array of small sandwiches, scones, desserts and each diner's choice of tea. We also enjoyed a sumptuous bottle of Sancerre from Julia's well curated wine list. Our server Hans was attentive to our needs throughout the experience. Thank you to the entire restaurant staff for creating such a memorable experience.

Despite being under staffed they managed to get us out in time for the theater. Food and ambience were incredible. I would definitely recommend it.

A perfect location for an afternoon lunch with friends. Also, I was delighted to find out that there is an afternoon tea service. Will definitely be returning.

Yes, we had a new server with a shadow of a mentor server. Still: timing off with every course (entree arrives 5 minutes after salad course; it gets cold; ignored and have to flag down servers to clear entree and get dessert menu; 20 minutes to dessert serve and no refills of water. Small issue on the side: the tablecloth looked like someone had wrinkled it up and slept in it before being layed on the table. NOT what we expected! Having said that, the entree and dessert were delicious and worth coming back for!
