Delicious as always. Go when they open for a sure table. This place gets packed fast.
Solid spot. Service is good, food is above average for the area
Had a great solo experience at the grill table!
Once again, Kirala treats the solo customer terribly. Not only did the front end guy argue with me because I didn't want to be shooed back to the drink bar, instead choosing to stand out of the way (there were no other customers lined up), but when a two person table opened, I was not offered it (seated at a table doesn't hurt my back, but they want you to sit at the sushi bar). The customer that came in afyer me was waiting for her companion and was given the table, even though I arrived first and her party was not completed. I said, you obviously don't want me as a customer, noted this has happened many times and left. I will not give them another try. For literally decades, they have been rude to solo customers who would, like me, spend more than most couples. Their loss.
I love this place. The fish is exquisite, and there are excellent grilled short ribs which I will be coming back for.
Lovely , tasty . Fun hang.
Delicious fish. Always fresh. Consistent beautiful. Albacore and Unagi are outstanding. Robata grilled scallops are yummy. I’ve been here many times over 25 years and the food and service are always top rate.
Good Service the food is consistently good. The staffs service is very good very nice.
The place was bustling with people but the sushi was very pretentious and left no room to shine for a take out order.
I ordered 4 rolls of sushi and a miso soup. The price itself came out to be close to $60 with a very little portion size only enough to feed one person. I was shocked to find that this was the price for such a measly amount of sushi. That was not at all something to write home about.
Also, they forgot to give chopsticks in the bag and soy sauce leaving me even more frustrated by the experience and gave me my soup in a coffee cup.
Overall, I would not recommend taking out here. Better options to buy affordable and reasonably priced sushi where they will remember to give you utensils and better yet won’t give you such a small amount of sushi.
Buy your sushi at Party Sushi or Getta much better sushi!
Kirala has been around for a long time. However, the food is just mediocre. I could get better food at a 7-11 in Japan. It's really that bad. Friendly service.

Great food, very high quality service.
Kirala continues to be a favorite. The casual, friendly atmosphere and the very fresh fish is comforting. Friday 11.8.24 arrived about 7pm and the wait was short enough that we could wait at the bar inside and not in a line outside. It was lovely to see friends there dining at a table, so got to chat with them before waiting for our sushi bar seats. Once we went to the back bar to wait, it was probably only 10-15 minutes. We sat in the middle of the sushi bar, directly in front of the specials board and I noticed how sparse it was. It used to be packed with options but not so any more. Then, while ordering, I asked for ankimo, which is something I consistently ordered here for years and years. In fact I think Kirala was the first place I ever had it. Sadly, they don't offer it any more - at all. So we ordered some basic nigiri and it was all very good - especially the unagi...Kirala is the ONLY place where I know it will be warm when it's served. I appreciate that immensely. Okay...so no ankimo....let me go ahead and order their tempura ice cream for dessert. Nope. They also no longer do that. I saw green tea and vanilla ice cream (large glass containers full) be delivered to a table so they carry those...they just don't tempura it any more. Harumph lol. I'll always come back to Kirala, but I'm sad about the missing menu items.
This place is amazing! Took a long time for someone to come take our order but they were really busy. Food came relatively quick and service was friendly.

There are so many things to choose from on the menu but the robata grilled items and donburis are my favorites. The waits during peak times can be rough but there is a list and the hosts do the best they can to accommodate both small and large groups.
