For the price the foods solid and has been for decades. The courtyards cute but everything always feels grimey
Very, very mid. Got the enchilada and taco plate. Very little flavor - needed to put salsa on everything and the only decent salsa was the jalapeño based one. Was ready to pa k it up in a to-go box a couple bites in. Place was relatively empty at 12:30pm on a Friday - red flag. Won’t be back.
It's the very definition of average, but for some reason, getting their California burrito just scratches a certain itch. The burritos I've gotten also don't cheap out on the amount of carne.
Food isn't like I remembered it back in college (almost 15+ years ago), but it's still a reliable option.
Great go to
the wet burritos are like 90% rice and no meat. it didn't even taste good, and it's really hard for a burrito to be genuinely bad :,)
One and done...

If you’re gonna charge $17 for a burrito at least put some meat in it, what is this rice burrito you gave me.

After coming here for 22 years, it has finally fallen to the point I won't be back. Even after graduation, if I was passing through Berkeley I always made a point of stopping at La Burrita. Those days are over.
Brought a friend for a quick lunch and to show off my favorite old spot. Got two wet burritos, and two sodas. Chips are no longer from the self serve area by the sodas, so I asked for some chips. The guy behind the counter shrugged and said "no tip?" and didn't give any chips. Sure I could have said "come on, I've been coming here since I was 18, can I please get some chips??" And I'm sure I would have gotten them. But just that attitude made me say screw it and move on.
When we finally got the wet burritos, they weren't very hot. Overall was "eh" and not something to introduce your friends to. And the bill was something like $36 for two burritos and two sodas.
Also, tables and atmosphere was pretty dirty and dingy and just sad. I'll miss my old la Burrita memories, getting 3-4 burritos a week as a college kid. And back then I did tip a dollar even as a low budget kid on a $6 burrito, but with how bad the place looked I wasn't feeling it and I guess my gut was right.

Their California burrito is a best-in-class burrito. Local VCs should recognize and invest them to grow the potential unicorn.

A good place for Mexican food, great veggie breakfast burrito! Reasonably priced, and they have a nice courtyard to sit when the sun is out. Plus - they always have a soccer game on!
