Horrible experience. Took then 20 minutes to let us know assorted basket was not available. Took another 20 minutes to bring us some toasted bread with jam and butter (two baskets) we ordered coffee and a hot chocolate. For those drinks and two baskets of bread was $70. Waiter rushed us out by giving is the check not even 15 minutes into eating their horrible toasted bread. Maybe they treat other customers differently, but I want to say this has been one of the worse experiences ever. Would not recommend, would not come here again. On the plus side. Host was nice, the guy who delivered our coffees was nice but the main waiter: thumbs down on everything. Do better.

A gem in the super varied Oakland food scene. Places like these make up for the variety of the Oakland's rich restaurant scene. We tried the orange marmalade omelette with great skepticism only to find it extremely delicious. And one of the best ratatouille we have had. And we were expecting a fat cheque since it looks and serves like an upscale restaurant but it was way easy on the wallet than most South Bay restaurants. A great catch with wonderful service.

Great local warm spot, not sure if they have a slow day or hour. ( good for them) Always seems to be packed. European style in terms of small space and to have a nice experience you better be ok with bumping to people or having tables close to each other. Food is amazing, from breakfast to 🥗 salads and soup Great Great food! Staff fast paced and in production mode (makes sense). Parking limited in the street - the usual in Berkeley- Bring your eye glasses 👓 if needed ( like me) I had to concentrate hard enough to read the French menu and next to it in English ❤️

I love this restaurant. The food is amazing. The wait for breakfast is long, so it's good to head to Pegasus books down the street to waste a little time while you're waiting. The service is excellent. The wait staff have always treated us well and are friendly. My personal favorite are the home fries with big chunks of garlic. Oh, and I love the herbed roasted tomatoes. Yummmmmmmm

The tables are jammed in so close you can't move around easily. It took way over an hour to get our food, it was uncomfortably hot and the air was stagnant. People were waiting forever wiping sweat from their brows. The food was fine yet very difficult to enjoy in those conditions. Definately needs work.
If I could rate 0 I would. Service was horrible and rude, food was somehow worse and extremely pricey for the quality.

Ordered pancakes and French toast — apparently I also ordered a side of attitude. They forgot the syrup, claimed there’s a law against giving it (newsflash: there isn’t), and hung up on me. I guess I’ll just enjoy my stack of fried bread sadness.

Neither french nor 'délicieux'; La Note is an unfortunate exercise in ambiance over discipline. Cute and worth the visit? Yes, but aside from the wonderful staff, neither the food nor the wait is worth a return.
