Today, March 3, around 5:30, I arrived with my family. This is the second time I went to IVA because I liked the pupusas and the first time I went, the waitress's attitude was rude and not friendly and today it was worse. I arrived and we sat down when we saw that she had customers and she looked at us and we went to the table and I still took the seat for my baby since I saw her busy. About three minutes passed and not one of the two who were there and saw us bothered to ask us or give us the menu at the end with the people who were serving, one Asia went to the kitchen and the other to start wrapping the forks in bow ties, I thought they were for us, but Asia never arrived. Asia looked at where we were and the other continued with the same thing, in which the motorcycle came out and some guys came in and they sat down the same as us, but they did give them the menu on the table and we continued waiting and they didn't arrive. I got up and told her hey girl, we arrived a while ago and we sat down and they didn't give us the menu and they just arrived and they already gave it to them, moto Asia, their table and ISO with an oush gesture!! and he looked at me and said tama without even asking for an apology, I will never go back to that place, shame for the owner because the food is delicious but the waitresses are very rude.
I had an awful experience at this restaurant. I found a hair in my food, and when I brought it to their attention, the cashier—who had a major attitude—offered multiple times to remove it and remake the rice, saying it would take some time. While I waited patiently, she went back and forth to the kitchen several times.
When I insisted on getting my money back, she had the audacity to claim it was a dog hair and that they “don’t have dogs,” as if I had put it there myself. I was at work and couldn’t believe she even suggested that. Instead of apologizing, she kept saying how “strange” it was, with zero accountability. The attitude was uncalled for, and the lack of basic customer service made it even worse. I refuse to eat somewhere that handles situations like this so poorly. Absolutely unacceptable.

Kinda lacking in flavor
The food is delicious but the people who serve here have a terrible attitude, they work reluctantly, this will be my last time here.

Life-giving. I had the habanero bean and cheese variety and the mango passion fruit drink.
Clean and neat interior also.
✨.
I was there for 15 min sitting at the table yet no one came over to even ask if I wanted a drink or at least to say that they would be right with me in a moment. Very disappointed walked out after.

We were looking for a typical dish from El Salvador (chicken soup) and upon entering the restaurant we were greeted with displeasure by someone who, during our stay there, called us "Lupita", practically throwing the menu at us on the counter, then She started to spread disinfectant on the floor and mop, we addressed her using the word "excuse me" to ask if they still had chicken soup and she ignored us even though we were the only people in the place; Then she turned around and said "my name is Lupita" and added that there was chicken soup.
The atmosphere was hostile, but my mother is an elderly woman who uses a wheelchair and was determined to eat chicken soup, so we stayed.
It is worth mentioning that the soup is delicious, it transports us from the first sip to our homeland, the rice deliciously addictive with a unique flavor. Salvadoran horchata is so natural with an exquisite flavor.
Therefore, I returned to the place and ordered the chicken soup to go, although on my recent visits I have not encountered the unpleasant "Lupita".

Some of the best food and service I’ve had at any restaurant in Berkeley. The restaurant was closing, and the employees still decided to let me and my family in (we were a party of 14.) They were all very friendly and my whole family loved the food.

We came to see the university where my daughter will be and we stopped at this place and we loved it. We are thinking that it will be the meeting place when we come to visit her

I went here because I wanted some pupusas but they were not flavorful. I also thought the pupusas had too much cheese and they were good but not yummy. I ordered the zucchini and cheese and all I tasted was the cheese. I also ordered the chicken and cheese and all I tasted was the cheese. I probably will try another pupusas restaurant next time I want some more pupusas.
Parking: There is street parking on the side of the building and the front of the building.

Amazing experience- no complaints! Came in on taco tuesdays so I had to get 4 tacos for $10 (amazing value) and got two pupusas (revuelta and a chicharron cheese with ADDED garlic). The added garlic elevated everything! loved the cole slaw, the pupusas were delicious, and tacos were pretty awesome too :)Also the lady who was serving us (didn't catch her name) was so sweet! All her recommendations helped a lot!
