Great vegan options! Perfect place for a date because of the shared food experience and the decorated environment. Traditional Ethiopian healthy food. The people were friendly and the food was delicious.

It was fantastic food and everyone was nice and the place had an excellent vibe but the food took very long. I'm assuming that part of the reason the food was so good was the slow cooking process so I'd still say 5 stars.

Had the veggie combo, it was delicious, and despite it being a mountain of food, I'm feeling good the next day. Also, the paintings are really cool.

A Berkeley gem! Delicious food and uniquely artful decor. I have been coming here for years and have always enjoyed my experience at Lemat.

The food was good, don't get me wrong, but I had to wonder did the chief drop the spice rack onto the floor before cooking our meal? The food simply lacked the usual Ethiopian spices that make your mouth water.

This place started amazing! The food was good and the portions very generous, in the past 4 orders, they started giving less and less food. Until tonight, we ordered 4 veggie combos, and the red beets were missing from all of them. I work hard for my money and this is just unacceptable. Plenty of Ethiopian food places around here. Maybe it’s time to o move on!

The restaurant excels in its food and offerings but is terribly slow in service. We had to wait 50 minutes for our appetizer, and the service was minimal, to the point where we weren't even provided with silverware or plates. The business owners don't seem to care about the waiting time and don't set any expectations. While I appreciate small businesses, the service here was abysmal. Also, don't take your kids - they'll be starved waiting for the food to arrive. The ambiance and cocktails are great. This place is worth visiting if you have about three hours to spare for a meal.

I had the best red lentils I've ever tasted here. The vegetable wot is especially good. Service with a smile. And we even found parking right in front of the restaurant.
