I can't say enough about how wonderful they are at Love at First Bite! I go there every year for birthday cakes for my kids! The cakes are delicious and they do a great job. For a few years during the pandemic, they weren't doing customized cakes but now they are doing it again - and the work is beautiful! I am so happy with how the cake for my daughter's 8th birthday turned out - beautiful and so yummy!

Update from the last review the owner ended up blowing up my phone multiple times to confront me about my yelp review, I only provided my phone number to have my complaint heard but instead she called multiple times back to back in a few hour span to harass me in order to feel she "defended" her unprofessional staff.

I bought my bf's bday cupcakes here! They have a great variety of unique flavors and adorably decorated classics. Their frosting is ADDICTING LOL. I'm a cupcake fiend and keep going back to their frosting. Obviously, their cake is delicious too (super moist & balanced sweetness). Their vegan options are equally amazing. Lately I'll stop by just to grab an impulse snack or dessert-- each time, their display case always had excellent flavors. The shop is kept tidy and bright, and the staff are so so friendly.

Dry cupcakes. Very bad. We tried salted caramel, red velvet and their vanilla (their recommendation) and they were all equally bad. One bite each and none were the least bit moist or tasty. Leaving a review to ensure I remember this experience and don't go back. $12 wasted but you can read this and save yourself the trip.

Love at First Bite is a fabulous cake and cupcake spot! Every flavor we've tried is delicious and the employees are very caring. Natalie always decorates my items with beautiful colors and fun designs and goes above and beyond to make sure my orders are accurate (we have a picky, gluten free crowd) and on time, even when I come in last minute. I love getting our goodies from this friendly, cheery and efficient small business.

I ordered a cake for my mom as a surprise for her birthday! I was looking around the Berkeley area to see what bakeries would be able to do a nice cake and this shop came up. I placed the order for it Monday night and asked to get it by Thursday evening. They contacted me super fast and my order was placed within an hour! I picked up the cake on Thursday, with the goal of surprising my mom on Friday. The design was so cute! The cake also lasted my travel home (I took Amtrak to get back home since I go to college in Berkeley). FLAVOR:I got a 6" 3 layered Lemon Bliss cake. The taste was great! The frosting wasn't too sweet and the cake was really nice. The only downside was the cake itself was a bit dense. We usually like lighter cakes, it it wasn't necessarily bad that it was dense. That just means we can eat the cake for a while haha! I definitely recommend getting a cake from here. Maybe it was just the flavor I got for the cake resulting in the density. Actually, I think that was it because I also tried a matcha cupcake and it was actually really light. I think I'll order a cake from here again in the future for myself or for a party! Super cool and tasty :)
