Looks like they're gone! Perhaps the owners have retired? They've been here for decades after all. Thanks for serving good cheap Chinese food for the past 30+ years if they're indeed gone. You will be missed.

Been here for a late night craving moment after I had a huge fat joint with my housemate... The food was good, the lady at the cashier was sweet as caramel, real 5star customer service... One little thing tho, the windows and mirror look like they've never been cleaned, but that didn't affect my experience, just ruined my selfie.

I ordered chicken + beef + shrimp combination fried rice last time and chicken fried rice this time through uber. The portions are quite generous especially in terms of rice (pretty economic considering the amount they give lasts me for 3 meals lol) which unfortunately makes meat looks kind of scarce in comparison. I actually thought the fried rice tasted pretty good, so it was surprising when I saw so many negative reviews on yelp. The fried rice is on the oily side but the soysauce makes it smell delicious, which kind of reminded me the fried rice I'd get in Taiwan if I order it from like a small street shop. Either way, as a Berkeley student I can assure this tastes better than the dining hall food by a long shot lol, so if you're starving at midnight studying for final it wouldn't be such a bad idea to order a fried rice from here.

I bought the combo plate with Mongolian Beef and Chow Mein + Vegetable egg roll for myself (originally $10.95 as shown on the Yelp menu pictures) -- And when i got my food over 30 minutes later, it didn't even have the egg roll inside? Ordered on the kiosk and this cost $17.95 for this...what a waste of money. My friend got a shrimp chow mein that was also ~$18 (no add ons) and Vegetable Buns (~$4)z Total for us three was over $40 (ABSOLUTELY not worth it).

I came here and waited an hour, the lady attending to me was hella rude and the app said my food was ready 50 minutes before it was actually ready. I created a whole gmail account to say that this place is trash. DO NOT COME HERE!!!

Terrible service, workers were very rude when I simply inquired about my order. Will never order here again.

I went in today with my mom and my little sister! My mom is a Berkeley student, so sometimes we hang out in the surrounding area. We walked past while we were waiting on Boba Ninja (would also recommend) and we had to go in! We ordered on the snackpass app and it was ready relatively fast There was a bit of a wait, but we had a large order so it's understandable. We got pork buns, chicken + veggie buns, and custard buns. They were all really good, and their custard buns are the best I've ever had. My little siblings got sweet and sour chicken and my mom got sesame chicken, both of which were pretty good and came with white rice. I tried pork and preserved egg congee for the first time and it was very pleasant! Their menu is long and full of things that sound and look delicious, and the woman who works there is really kind. We will be back soon.

Ordered the BBQ pork fried rice at the kiosk. Wait time was a bit long at around 20 minutes but the food itself was wonderful! Good flavor from the pork and the dish was steaming hot even after a 10 minute walk back to my dorm. Other members of my party who ordered separately also expressed their satisfaction of their food. Would go back!

Food is quitegood, but staff really rude and waiting time really long. So go for it if you are really patient and good tempered.

Avoid this place at all costs especially if you're in a rush. Snackpass told me it'd be ready in 15 minutes, took them 40 minutes to prepare my food. Owner was rude, too - I tried showing her my Snackpass receipt on my phone, and she kept shooing me away with her hand, not even looking up from her phone. Later when my food WAS ready, she called my number, then walked away, leaving me at an empty counter with no way to retrieve my meal for the next few minutes. I verbally said my number to her (since I figured she might have a thing against phone screens in her face based on our earlier interactions), but angrily, she shouted, "Just show me [the receipt]!" with incredible rudeness. Poor service, long wait time, and mediocre food. Never coming back here again. I hope this place goes out of business soon.

From reading the reviews I was very sceptical about this place. It's really not really that that bad. I put in an order online while I was finishing my classes on the nearby campus and I was craving something savoury and quick. I had a discount and I was like why not, plus it came with rice. The time did take a while for my plate to be ready. Once I got there the staff member is very reserved and soft spoken but that's fine. She was going back and forth but did ended up having my order next to her when I initially came in. She gave me my order with a smile and a reserved thank you. My Kung pao tofu rice plate was very savoury and tasty. The temperature was well and hot. The sauce was very nice and complimented the rice. The tofu was very dry, but in a good way. Dry smothered in sauce but the inside felt soft yet you can feel the small layer of the grilling. I didn't find anything wrong with my order but I just see it as average. I don't believe the seating is available but it's very spacious and full of decor and photos which is a bit much but it stands out.

DATE: Saturday 28 August 2021 MY ORDER: (Take Out) 1x Chicken Combo Plate (Orange Chicken, Fried Rice, Egg Roll) = $14.95 REVIEW: WHERE'S THE SAUCE? I usually don't like starting off with a rant, but this place forgot the sauce for my orange chicken. Now I can't call it orange chicken. It's just chicken. The chicken itself was devoid of flavor. Maybe the sauce would've helped. It was also a little tough. The rice itself wasn't that much better. At least it had more flavor than the chicken. Still mostly bland. The Egg Roll was good. Quite crunchy actually. Honestly I was disappointed when I opened the take out box and saw naked chicken. Like c'mon, I really was craving orange chicken today. But I guess today is not my day.

Service is great and orders are all very on-time. Mandarin House has a large menu of great variety, and they are all priced very well. Portion sizes are fairly generous.
