This IS one of those spots you'll kick yourself over and over after eating here because you'll wonder why you wasted good money elsewhere!Mimosa was good, hard to mess up.Onto the mains - lox waffles, etc.Huh? You might think, maybe you'll just stay with the lox bagel? No!!Hard pass, go for their "x" on waffle specials and you can't go wrong.Seriously well-made - both pretty and delicious without any nitpicks at all! Waffles were made perfectly. Enough crisp on the outside, softer inside, to hold up the cream cheese, lox, and onions. The balance of the toppings were perfect, too. Not too heavy, not skimpy. From beginning to end, every bite was just "good", "good", "good"! Tasty lox, not too thick, just right in amount. Ditto with the other dishes - pretty, delicious and balanced. Not much space indoors to dine, but outdoors is perfectly fine. Relaxing spot for brunch on a lazy weekend.

Amazing food! The heirloom tomato tartine is insanely good and pastries are great too. The pink latte and the mocha were delicious. The service is a bit slow (they need to hire at least another person) but if you don’t mind that it’s a great breakfast or lunch spot.

I like their Farmers market bowls and vegetarian eggs with Farmers market veggies. Pricey though. About 15 dollars for each dish for breakfast. Nice outdoor space.

Great good from Mise en Place! It's a go to for friends that have celiac and the food is delicious. A solid go to is the lox waffle. The lox is high quality and their produce is always fresh. Recently I got the tomatoes with balsamic caviar and thought it was amazing. I loved the take on "caviar" the the tomatoes were fresh & sweet. The price point is high, but the quality is there. If you like a bang for your buck, this may not be the place as I'm usually a bit hungry after finishing my waffle. However, you get a farm to table feel here and a place we'll continue to go back to

Cute little spot in Berkeley. Not to crowded when we arrived, but filled up quickly after. They've got a nice little outdoor area, but the poor workers inside don't have enough space. Looked pretty tough for the servers to squeeze by the cashier. But the food was tasty.

Our experience was excellent! The staff were so efficient even in the middle of a busy Sunday that we got our food quickly and got a great spot outside. I had the carnitas sandwich- HIGHLY recommend!! The cold brew coffee was also amazing. Will definitely be coming back!

So glad that we found a nice place for brunch that opens at 9AM! The scrambled eggs with Farmer's market vegetables was on point! Great toast that comes with it unless you choose a side salad. The quality is evident. Mise en Place Kitchen respects quality and freshness. I enjoyed my Farmer's market bowl although be forewarned that most of the bowl are simple greens and lots of lettuce and the more expensive toppings (seeds, beets, cucumbers, etc.) are relatively superficially placed on top. For 15.50, I expected a bit more cucumbers, etc. For an extra two dollars, I received half a small avocado which really brought out the flavors so definitely splurge on the avocado. The coffee was good. The outside patio area is cute and the big benches are reserved for big groups or the disabled. My partner did complain he had to wait ten minutes to get a small box for his scrambled eggs and that the staff was chatting and didn't pay attention to the long line of people. The bathroom was broken so we had to go shopping at Whole Foods afterwards to use the lavatory. Overall, it's a nice place to eat but be prepare to spend over 40 dollars for two people on breakfast/brunch.

Relaxing atmosphere, friendly service, beautiful presentation and tasty food! Lox on waffle, prosciutto with ricotta and apricots, delicious fruit covered coffee bread were all wonderful.

I love the interior design/aesthetic of this restaurant! There's lots of plants decorating the counters and windows inside. I also like how clean everything is. The space is a little small if you did want to eat inside, but thankfully there's a huge outdoor seating area right next to the public library. Ordering food took a little longer than expected (the line was slow and they looked a little understaffed for the amount of customers they were getting). The food is definitely 10/10. I ordered the avocado mashed tartine on a waffle, a vegetable empanada, and a hot pink latte-- I was so pleasantly surprised by each one! My friend ordered the lox tartine on a waffle and that looked just as good. This restaurant is moderately pricey. The waffles I think are a little overpriced, but they plate everything nicely so it looks expensive. The drinks are fairly priced... Overall I enjoyed my experience here. If I'm ever in the mood/area again, I'd love to try more of their menu:)

One of my favorite relatively recent additions to downtown Berkeley! So happy to support this woman-owned biz. Mise en Place features beautifully plated and delicious food, yummy homemade desserts, a range of caffeinated and alcoholic beverages, and a really quaint outdoor seating area. I've tried their avocado waffle and lox tartine waffle, and both were delicious (and so pretty). Don't be fooled by the size because they can be quite filling and perfect as a meal! On my most recent visit, I also had their golden turmeric latte which provided me with the perfect start to my day. Check out Mise en Place for a wonderfully relaxing meal!

To call this place delicious is a massive understatement! There are no true words to describe this place. The staff were fantastic, the food was above and beyond my expectations! This was our first eating at a restaurant since Covid pandemic. The tables were a comfortable distance from others. The staff were courteous and respectful. The food was definitely memorable. We are already planning our return visit!

I was looking for a place that offered good gluten free options, that was not the typical offerings. As someone who is strictly gluten free, I can get tired of having salad as my only option. I was so excited when I saw Pão de Queijo (Brazilian cheese bread) on the menu which is gluten free!!! The sliders were aaahhhhhhmazing! I rarely get to have sliders or have a bread that feels hearty. However, more importantly, the ingredients were just so tasty and satisfying! I had the salmon, BLT and the dulce de leche sliders, all were wonderful. Hopefully, next time they'll have the gluten free almond cake available. We traveled from SF and it was well worth it! I also appreciate how thoughtful they were with being safe during covid. We'll be back!
