Outstanding burger with outstanding service!
I have been craving a really good burger for a while. My standard places (Five Guys or Habit) just haven’t been doing it for me. I was in the Berkeley/Albany area and decided this would be a good time to try a different burger place. Oh G Burger x Chimmelier was the best rated burger place in the area that I was in. It was also the most out of the way. But I never been to that area so I decided to go for an adventure. I am very happy that I did! 😃
I ordered the standard double smash burger with Oh G sauce and tater tots. The burger was thoroughly greasy in the best way possible! A hamburger is not health food. A good hamburger should be 20% fat and thus greasy. This is an outstanding hamburger! And I’m so glad that other reviews mentioned the tater tots. They were fluffy, crunchy pillows of potato delight. 🥹 I had forgotten how wonderful a tater tot can be!
And the burger and tater tots together were just over $18 before tip. That’s right in line with what I pay at the other places I go, but this is a far superior burger. I will be back again, hopefully soon.
An unexpected plus was the outstanding person working the front of the restaurant , Nivea (pronounced Ni-VAY-ah, NOT like the hand lotion). I’m a very observant person and my work involves increasing productivity (nerd alert!), and I developed as habit of observing how people do their work, especially in service jobs. Sadly, it seems that most people working in customer service jobs today have little to no interest in serving customers. That is not the case with Nivea. I came in at 7 PM on a Sunday night, so it was late in the shift the restaurant was full. She greeted me quickly and with genuine warmth and a smile. When I asked where the restroom was, she gave me clear instructions and also warned me that it might be a little wet in there. I watched her move around rapidly, serving all the different customers. Then she took the opportunity to clean up the restroom, then she was back filling up the water, pitcher moving rapidly to get it done quickly. When a large group that was seated at the counter, asked her what type of ice cream was used in the milkshake because they really liked it, she went to the back and got the information. I think there were only three workers in the restaurant at that time, two in the kitchen and Nivea in the front of the house. That’s a lot of work and responsibility to be on one person and most people in food service would not manage it, but she handled it with grace.
I’ve never met Nivea before, I just think it’s important to recognize outstanding work whenever I see it, as it is becoming increasingly rare. She was totally caught off guard when I told her what I thought about her work. The group seated at the counter agreed with my observation that Nivea is an excellent server and worker.
Nivea, if you happen to read this, there are many jobs in and out of customer service where your positive energy and diligence will take you far. Don’t sell yourself short.
And to other restaurant owners in the Berkeley/Albany area: if you’re looking for a good food server, come by Oh G Burger x Chimmelier, and ask is Nivea is working. If she is, order some food, sit down, and enjoy the food and the service.

We ordered the OG chicken and yangyeom chicken and it was off the mark unfortunately. Having lived in Korea for ten years, yangyeom is something to endulge in but the sauce used here was too heavy on the chili flavor and not balanced right. The OG chicken badder had a strong flour flavor and not very seasoned.

Fantastic burger, always dine in. I get the double cheese smash burger with tater tots and a Pepsi. Satisfies my burger craving - my previous go to was Big Al’s before the management change

Pplresentation and food were definitely solid. The burger was juicy, onion rings were crisp, and everything came out looking picture-perfect. That said, the price is hard to swallow. Nearly $40 for just a burger, onion rings, and a soda feels steep, even by Bay Area standards. Good quality, but not sure it justifies the cost.

Goodness! The food's good even if I let it get cold!
Also service is lightning fast!

They were even able to help reccomend me options when I had and injury that prevented me from using one of my hands to eat! And that's just...really cool.

I’m so happy this place is part of the community! They really nailed the chicken burger and hamburger’s flavors. Stuff is always friendly and helpful. Ps, if you can’t handle spicy well, reconsider the Buldak Chicken Burger :)

This is a cute, combination restaurant along Solano ave: a burger and fried chicken (chicken + sommelier for the name) place.

I tried the Korean fried chicken and it was tasty! 8 wings, a side of fries, and a drink for ~$25. Fries were seasoned, slightly spicy, fresh, and tasty. Chicken was tasty, but a bit bready and with some cartilage.

Vibes were fine but maybe 15 total seats including a couple tables outside, a stool/bar up against the kitchen and music was groovy but a bit loud. Manager was nice and helped me through the menu.

Would come here again!

Very tasty burgers that don’t disappoint! Get the tater tots, too. Consistently hot and crispy. They also play a fun 80s and 90s playlist that’ll have you reminiscing on back in the day. Good vibes.

Super excited to try out this Korean fried chicken spot! It shares a location/kitchen with Oh G Burger which I will have to try another time. Great service. There's limited table seating but also bar seating inside. Outside there are tables shared with the Peet's next door. After tip, our order was $100 which felt a little high but fully fed 4 adults with leftovers. I would come back
The food really hit the spot and was delicious.
-8 piece wings in soy garlic: super crunchy and flavorful!
One flavor per 8 pieces
-Medium popcorn chicken in OMG (signature dry rub): really enjoyed this flavor and you get a big portion of the popcorn chicken
-Corn cheese: super cheesy and delicious. Good portion size
-Tteokboki: not favorite flavor (personal preference) but still tasty
-Shrimp toast: served cut up in bite size pieces and perfect for sharing. Perfectly toasted and flavored
-Seasoned fries: good fries

Hidden cripsy korean chicken! This place is such a vibe. I finally got the chance to eat here after watching an Instagram reel about an influencer reviewing this place. I was greeted from what looks like the owner. He managed to handle incoming orders and people who were curious about this place. In order to try different flavors, you must pay for two orders. I got soy garlic & honey butter with a side of corn cheese. Iced water is provided. I must say, you are given with gloves if you do not want to get your hands sticky. The chicken was crispy and the corn cheese was very cheesy that it was delicious with the chicken! I ended up finishing the chicken with my girlfriend and her cousins. This was great, thanks! Located on a busy street with street parking depending on availability.

“I hit up this spot recently, and it’s safe to say I’m hooked. The popcorn chicken was a total game-changer—tried it with honey butter and soy garlic, and both were unreal. The honey butter brought this sweet, creamy vibe that paired perfectly with the crispy chicken, while the soy garlic had a savory punch that kept me reaching for more. Every bite was bursting with flavor.
The burgers, though? Next level. Made with ground short rib meat, they’re juicy, rich, and seasoned with the best Korean flavors—think bold, umami goodness that hits all the right spots. The patties were cooked just right, and the seasoning made it unlike any burger I’ve had before.
The place has a cool, laid-back feel, perfect for digging into some seriously tasty comfort food. Service was on point, and the prices felt spot-on for the quality. Forget the usual hot wings—next Super Bowl, I’m bringing their popcorn chicken to steal the show! If you’re craving something unique and delicious, this spot’s a no-brainer!”
