Very classy. Huge interior - lots of chairs, couches, and bar area. Not too loud, easy to talk others with you. Easy to get a drink. A little pricy, but worth it.

Delicious fresh pasta. The best lasagna I ever tasted. Desert delicioso as well and service is great. They did however ran out of some pastries but that means you just have to arrive early because it is just that good.

Great location and ample space with a variety of amazing authentic pizza and pasta! I was so impressed as the pizza crust, tagliatelle, sauces, and flavors reminded me of beautiful Italy. I will definitely be back to indulge some more! Mille grazie a tutti!

We ordered "salmon poached eggs focaccia". They were out of focaccia, so instead they used tiny slider buns. The amount of food was tiny for an expensive dish (15$). So small that they actually cut the egg edges and put them underneath. I would give a lower rating, but I used to like this place other times.

Passione Caffe was the best venue for a private party, the three course meal was authentic and amazing and the tapas were perfect. Anyone wanting to host a birthday here should not think twice. Great venue with excellent, helpful and welcoming staff .

Do not waste your money on brunch food here. It does not match the menu description. Ordered the salmon and poached egg focaccia, which came out instead on a hamburger slider buns with a comically small salad. This was after waiting 15 minutes in line to order and 25 at the table. The good here is quite expensive for what it is. On the plus side, the coffee is good.

My experience at Passione Caffè in their gorgeous two-story, well-decorated café at 91 Shattuck Square was simply marvelous. The staff was friendly, quick, and accommodating and the food, drinks, and desserts were delicious! I highly recommend Passione Caffè to those looking for a quick and yummy lunch (or breakfast/brunch everyday), to snack and study, or for an authentic Italian coffee. Don’t miss out on the great happy hour/aperativo deals between 4-7PM! It almost goes without mentioning, but Passione Caffè is absolutely true to its slogan: “A corner of Italy in Berkeley.” From the food and drink to the atmosphere and the service, this is the only truly Italian café I have found in Berkeley! And that comes from over a year of experience living and traveling in Italy!

And that comes from over a year of experience living and traveling in Italy! Besides the beautiful architecture and interior design of Passione Caffè—not to mention its convenient location next to Downtown Berkeley BART—I would like to point out some highlights on the menu. The pastas are all made with homemade, organic noodles and made-to-order sauces. The pasta dishes are so fresh and authentic! The spaghetti with meatballs, their only Americanized dish, is to die for! The pizzas also are also made with home-made dough and gluten-free options are offered. Try one with fresh prosciutto, mozzarella, and arugula! The fresh panini with Italian meats and cheeses round out the lunch menu. It is possible to have a filling lunch for $7-15, which is definitely reasonably priced by Berkeley standards! A serious final highlight was the artisanal gelato, made in-house by the Italian co-owner, Eleanora Cercatore. There are 12 flavors, weekly made with gluten-free options, that are displayed on a beautiful rotating wheel. The gelato is spectacularly tasty—I cannot recommend it highly enough! For your time, money, and fine Italian bites and drinks, I cannot recommend a Berkeley café more highly than Passione Caffè! Please pay them a visit soon—you won’t be disappointed!

I've visited here several times and have always had a pleasant experience.

We had to stand waiting for a couple minutes to for the cashier to finish chatting up someone he knew before we could place our order. They have the food menu board positioned so you can't see it from where you actually order. The pasta portions are fairly small based on the price. Even with a very limited menu, they still managed to get one of our dishes wrong.

Great lively DT Berkeley spot. Wine, pizza, pasta, gelato. True Italian vibe, bright airy setting.

Spacious and great location!

Good coffee, panini and pizza. The cook has a good hand and uses fresh ingredients. I find it a great place to stop in Downtown Berkeley, with quiet seating, nice light and kind service.
