Drinks are great, food...not so great. Stay away from the tri tip unless you want a jaw workout. Chewy like a hi-chew.

I've been here plenty times as an undergraduate student, and it was always a delightful time. The sandwich and mango drink go great together. They use a sauce that makes the sandwich very tasty. Amongst the times I've come, there was barely a wait time, and it didn't ever take long from ordering to receiving my food. Additionally, the owner Pedro is very nice. As they say in Brazilian Portuguese... he's "legal". He's very cool.

Amazing food, reasonably priced. The place does not miss. Go for the tri tip bowl and a guarana

I love the tri-tip bowl here!! Whenever I dream about their tri-tip bowl, I get my friends to go with me to this spot. Their bar garden is also really nice, good for large parties, clean, and there's many spots to sit on the benches. There's a nice plant nursery next-door (where I got my plant lily) that you can go after you finish your meal. There's also free street parking in the neighborhoods, and there's small shops you can browse and window shop, as well! Great to look around & walk to burn off the calories in your meal

This last location of the Brazil Cafe trio is a great place to hang. The only problem is the menu. If there going to keep the other locations closed, they need to bring those menu items over so we can enjoy the full experience again. This locations menu is missing a lot of items from the others.

i love the tri-tip here. so delicious! in a rice bowl or on the loaded fries. (they're spicy even without jalapeños so next time i might ask for less spicy.) great variable beer selection, lots of local beers and cider & kombucha options too. on chilly evenings they have mulled wine!the outdoor seating is really nice, plenty of shady and sunny options and there's also bike parking which is super convenient. there is often a long wait for food when they're busy, so don't come ravenous.the staff seem happy and friendly, and i hope that means they're paid well and not overworked or understaffed. there doesn't seem to be a lot of turnover, which seems like a good sign. i will update my review if i find out one way or another.the only thing i routinely don't like here is the music, but you can't win em all. i will suffer through music i dislike to eat food and drink beer here.

I used to come here back in 2009-2012 when it was a little shack on University Avenue. I came back recently and a lot has changed. I'm happy they have the spot they're in. It's obviously much bigger and can accommodate a lot more customers. I also like that it's outside. And that have started serving alcohol which is cool. A lot of other reviews have asked "what happened?" And yes, the quality did go down. They no longer have mango smoothie. Their plates don't come with salad, and my rice was cold when it got to me. They have more finger foods now but i don't think anything is cooked by a Brazilian anymore. I'm happy they've expanded and that business is thriving. I'm sad that they lost quality on the way. The music isn't Brazilian music.

What happened? When Brazil Cafe was on University the food was really good. I happened to be in Berkeley and found the new location. I was so excited until I took a bite. There was hardly any steak, the steak was cold and the bread was soggy. How could the bread be soggy when I literally walked to my car and started eating. I was so disappointed!

It’s delicious to be here. It seems a little bit of Brazilian territory. The variety of beer is good and the options of Brazilian food is nice . My favorite is the flying pig (chicken wrapped with bacon) and the cozinha.

Brazil cafe is our favorite spot. They are family friendly including infants and toddlers, and are open later than other restaurants these days. During the pandemic this has been our go to spot since it's outdoors and has such a relaxing vibe. Food is just as good as when it was the shack on University, can't go wrong with anything tri-tip, it's delicious and I would put the sauce on everything if I could. We love this place so much!

Sorry to say, I ate at Pedro's first spot at the end of University Ave. It was delicious the tri tip was so tender, juicy and soft to the bite. His two places shut down on university including the first one on the parking lot of the bike place. I came to this location on Gilman. Very disappointed the tri tip was way over cooked felt like I was chewing on beef jerky. I bought my usually the tri tip sandwich. I met Pedro personally several times. I was a delivery driving delivering to go products to his establishment. I heard he's not around and it shows. Pedro hermano you need to check on the quality of what the tri tip is coming out as.

Such an amazing place with amazing food and drinks. Can chill with friends, fam or alone here

I agree that is not as good as the shack. They changed the very good and fluffy bread for a bad, heavy, dried bread and sandwiches got smaller in size. Also, it was supposed to have pineapples and olives and I did not get any. and I had to wait more than 30 min for a sandwich to go. Won't go back

Food was excellent had the tri tip sandwich & tri ti loaded fries. Food was bursting with flavor every bite! Really worth the time drove 2+ hrs for Pedros, there's nothing like it.

Came for the tri-tip sandwich that used to be on University Ave. Same great place, very nice outdoor seating and beer garden. Salad version of the tri-tip is good too. Kid was a fan of the Flying Pigs (bacon wrapped chicken nuggets.)
